What would big Wendell Sailor have done if not for football? This is a question he has asked himself a lot over the years. Looking back he grew up with a few people that were kind of bad role models for him and very easily could he have been caught with some illicit smoking substances and ended up behind bars. That would have been a very different life than one of the top QB prospects in the DSFL.
If he managed to avoid that though and not make it to play professional football what else could have happened. Big Dell always appreciated the slower pace of life. He loved to mow his yard and look after the grounds so maybe something like a greens keeper at a golf course would have been a good job for him to look at. Just potter around at your own pace and be mowing the fairways and rolling the greens. Just being alone with your thoughts.
If that wasn't it he also could have become a high school football coach. He has spent a lot of time in the game of football so to be able to give back to a school community would have been a nice thing to be able to do and help bring through the next generation of football stars.
