The season is nearing the half way point and I have been enjoying every bit of it. Sure, our team could be doing better but I am honestly really happy and proud of our guys for their hard work and dedication this season. Although our record doesn’t reflect it, my teammates have battled their hearts out and it’s hard not to be excited when battling alongside these warriors. However, even though I’ve loved this season, there are several things I know I can still improve on that will help us finally achieve our goal of a championship season. The most important thing for me to improve on right now I would say is my football IQ. Being in the right position to make a play makes a world of difference on the gridiron, and I have found that often times I would be just a step behind or a second late on making a great play and it has been quite costly for our team. If I can just work more on recognizing what the opponent is trying to do then I know I will be able to help push our team to success. Aside from improving my football IQ, I have also been working on my speed this past year to also help me not lose a step. Even if I’m not quick enough to read the play, I’m hoping my speed will help make up for the extra time I spent trying to figure out what the opponent is doing. Truth be told I think we still have a chance at the championship, as long as my team and I keep pushing ourselves on the weight room and on the field.
