Mark was drafted with the 28th overall pick in the 4th round as the second TE off the board. He was a bit downbeat to hear that he wasn’t the 1st TE taken in the draft, though he was ecstatic about being selected by the Portland Pythons. Not being taken as the 1st TE has given Mark an extra 1 or 2% more determination to be the most successful TE in the class. His 1st four games have been reasonably slow recoding 13 catches for 94 yards with a single touchdown, with an average of 7.2 yards per reception. Mark was elated to have scored his 1st touchdown in the 4th game of the season. Having a sense of reaching the end zone for the first time in the DSFL is a feeling that will never be forgotten. In the short term Mark has been working on increasing both his Hands & Speed, now both in the 70’s with the aim of reaching as close to the 80 mark by the end of the season. Hopefully these addition will aid Mark in reaching a yardage per reception of more than 8.5 by the end of the season, in addition to scoring a few more TD. Mark would really like to add a Ultimini ring in his rookie season and is working hard to achieve that goal.
