Being a top receiver in this league is a lot harder than Patey has thought it would be after finishing as a top receiver in U Sports in his time at U of T. Half way through the season after just being picked up off of waivers after not being successful in other football drafts, Patey hasn't had the start to the season he wanted. Out of his first 3 games of his career, he has only one game over 20 yards receiving at 45, the other 2 being under the 20 yard total which is totally unacceptable for him. The one thing he has excelled at in his U Sports career that he seems to be the furthest behind at in this league seems to be his downfall...speed.
Moving onto the next half of the season, working out with the two other rookie receivers on a daily basis in training while staying confident will be the name of the game. At 6th and 14th in receiving yards, I need to be using my peers to my advantage to make us the best trio in the league. Patey looks to be working on his speed stat over the next part of the season to be helping break away from the tight coverage he has been in. With a lot of early mornings and training 7 days a week, he looks to top the charts in receiving even though he is 3 games under the rest of the league. The sim may not always be in his favor, but however he can improve his physical stature off the field will.
