Cedric Wilkins II has had a slow start with the London Royals, largely due to the matter of playing second fiddle to second year cornerback Savior Hawkins and lead returner Bradley Welch. Of course, displacing two seasoned veterans was not something Wilkins was expecting to do from the start, but he has been disappointed with the impact he has made with his opportunities to date. While Wilkins has shown himself capable of making clean tackles, he has failed to prove that he can make a meaningful difference defending the pass, with only four passes defended this season, just one more pass defense than Hawkins has interceptions. So, reading the receiver has become a focal point for Wilkins' training, as he works to become the playmaker he feels he should be. Similarly, Wilkins is always thinking about how he can make a difference with his opportunities carrying the football, so he is spending a great deal of time improving both his speed and agility; how a player moves with the ball can be key to their success, and Wilkins is well aware of that given his career at the University of Alabama, so continuing to make that level of impact as he moves towards the International Simulation Football League is key.
