(S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals

Saleem Spence honestly doesn't have a ton that NEEDS to be improved on. He's a perfectly serviceable 3rd receiver on a contending team thats struggling a bit to live up to its preseason hype, but hes far from the reason for the team's 5-4 record. Spence has been slowly working on increasing his ability to catch the ball in traffic over the course of the season, which hasn't worked out as well as hoped, as Spence has fumbled twice this season (up from last season's 1 fumble), and has 3 drops in much fewer targets than he got last season (where he had 4 drops but saw more of the ball overall.)

If Spence is reaching the ceiling of that particular ability though, then he's planning on working on his endurance. While he isn't a starter, he still sees the field a fair bit in 3 wideout singleback sets, and its important he maintains a certain level of stamina towards the ends of games. More importantly, Sarasota's coaches believe that improved cardio might unlock further potential that Spence has as an athlete. enabling him to move more smoothly in the passing game and run crisper, faster routes with better turns. If Spence does unlock his full athletic potential, then Sarasota's receiver group could be considered unmatched compared to the rest of the league.
