The sim gods have not been kind to the Yeti this season. Our defense is one of the best in the league in terms of TPE and our secondary should easily be an elite unit. Yet, we have struggled to win games, which is annoying. Redbeard’s stats have not been anything special, but honestly I expected that after the last several seasons. Because of the aforementioned elite secondary, Redbeard is still playing more of a backup role and filling the void in the defense when we switch to pass coverage formations. It is definitely not a sexy or eye catching position to play. Within the season, I would like to see Redbeard put up a stronger second half. With the athlete trait acquired, Redbeard should e more of a presence in the backfield. He has two fumble recoveries already, perhaps I could get to the ball a bit quicker and bump that total up a bit. Maybe I can get more involved in the pass defense and double my PD total, getting to 16. Or, maybe another interception or two could be in the mix. That would be pretty special. Looking to the end of the season, I definitely want Redbeard to make a bigger impact but I am not sure how much more I can expect until he is starting every day at a CB position instead of filling in gaps in the defense. Unfortunately, that probably does not happen until next season at the earliest.
