Evan Jones has been having a pretty great season thus far on his new team, the Austin Copperheads. At the time of this writing, the Copperheads are second in the league with an 8-2 record, and look poised to make some noise in the playoffs. The defense has been great for the Copperheads, and Jones is a big part of it. With 46 tackles, 2 sacks, and an interception, the safety has been an excellent contributor on a great unit. But one of the classic strengths of Evan Jones’s game has not been there this season. Zero forced fumbles is a weird stat to see this deep into the season, and I am sure it is something he would like to bring back into his game. At every level Jones has played at, he has been a turnover machine, but for whatever reason that just has not happened. Jones has never been a big interceptions guy, but a couple more there probably would not hurt either. He would also like to get brought into the fold up front a bit more, both on the pass rush and in the run stopping game. Jones is great at getting behind the line of scrimmage and causing chaos in the backfield, and maybe he can get back there more in these last couple weeks of play.
