Tier 2: Short Form Tasks (Each must be 400+ words)
Choose up to TWO for 5 TPE each.
14. Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season?
We didn’t have the greatest season in New Orleans. We had high hopes at the start of the season but we knew that we would be fighting for a playoff spot right from the get go. We’ve got some great players here and we all want to win for each other, but we especially wanted to do well this season for a couple of New Orleans Second Line legends who were playing in their last season, which was this past season. Ben Slothlisberger and Ed Barker were two dominate players when my player, Vincent Jones Jr, joined the team these two players were the top of the tops. They were two of the best players in their positions in the ISFL and each of them gave their everything for the team week in and week out. We all knew that this would be the last season for these two and when the season started, we all talked about having a good showing to send these guys off properly. We had hoped that we could win enough games to sneak into the playoffs because we knew that if we got in to the playoffs, anything could happen.
We came up short on that goal and I would have to chalk that up to a few key losses during the season. These losses were heartbreakers, filled with terrible luck and untimely calls. At the end of the day we weren’t able to pull off the wins when we needed them, stopping us from being able to get Slothlisberger and Barker to the big dance for one final time. These two retire as New Orleans legends, each racking up NOLA hall of fame numbers and will be sorely missed next season.
As for expectations for next season, they are high, just like they are at the end of any season. We’ve got a good mix of young players and veterans and we’ve got a dedicated front office that will make sure we’ve got the support we need. Just like this season, our main goal will to be to get into a playoff spot so we can make some noise and hopefully return to the Ulitmus championship game. For Jones, he is coming into the prime of his career, two seasons away from the start of regression, he is looking to regain his form. A disappointing season for him in just about every stat, he hopes to have a bounce back season and help guide the Second Line back to the promise land. Let’s go NOLA!!!
Tier 3: Written/Graphics Tasks (Each must be either 200+ words or a graphic)
Choose up to FOUR for 2.5 TPE each.
15. Going to Disneyland! Who was the Ultimus Game MVP? Give us a rundown of their celebratory trip to Disneyland. (Can be completed after the Ultimus game)
My vote for the Ultimus Game MVP would most definitely go to Mike Boss Jr. He led his Sarasota Sailfish in the game and was dominate against the Arizona defense. Completing 20 of 30 passes for 254 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Boss Jr was the reason the Sailfish took this game and was very deserving of the MVP. Like all MVP’s before him, Mike uttered those famous words ‘I’m going to Disneyland!!’. What did Mike do at Disneyland? From what I have heard, he had always wanted to go to the magical place of Disneyland, and this was just an easy excuse for him to go and live his childhood fantasies. He arrived at the park 20 minutes before it opened, he wanted to be the first in. The smile on his face was massive as the gates opened and he ran as fast as he could into the magical place. He stopped to greet each and every mascot he could and obliged each and every fan who stopped him for an autograph or picture. He rode every ride and sampled just about all of the food offerings. Mike Boss Jr was not only the MVP of the Ultimus game, he was also the MVP of Disneyland!
