Mrs. “Stacks” McHits Weekly Update
Admiral Doug: Leader of the Seawolves
-Mrs. "Stacks" McHits
In this week's article, I would like to share my exciting idea about a major possible development for the league. The origin of this idea is simple; as a supportive and interested spouse, I want to be able to be involved in the league because it is something that Sconnie loves, enjoys, and spends a lot of time doing. I love earning, being competitive, and participating, but it has been an extremely daunting task for me, because there are so many intricacies, and details that are simple to miss if you are not completely invested in this league.
I would love to be in a locker room, hyping up the team and my husband, but I was considering what other role I could take on to do that. In my upcoming article, "Bring in the Mascots!", I will dive into the possibilities for making this a reality for the league. In this and following newsletters however, I would love to discuss my ideas for mascot options for teams.
This week I will talk about Norfolk! My home, my family, my fellow Seawolves! Now, the immediate thought might be to have a wolf because of our name. Some may not know, but the term "seawolf" actually refers to a submarine. is a nuclear powered fast attack submarine and the lead ship of their class.
The expectation in the Norfolk locker room is that we all act as positive role models and continually build each other up. The seawolf submarine acts as a leader in their crew of vessels. Similarly, leadership is an important role that each of us will take on in some form in the locker room or on the field. For those reasons, the mascot that seems most fitting for our crew is a Sea Captain named "Admiral Doug", the ever reliable, ever encouraging, morale booster, and motivating presence already alive and thriving in our locker room.

Recipe of the Week:
Pumpkin Spice, it's here for those who love it! Honestly, it's not something I usually choose, but for those who love the flavor, you will enjoy this week's recipe.
You can double or triple this recipe if you have a larger crowd to feed, or if you will simply indulge. I am only sharing the amounts that work for our family. Feel free to experiment with what works for you and yours.
You'll need the following ingredients:
1 cup of Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix
2/3 cup pumpkin puree
2/3 cup of water
1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Directions:
HEAT pancake griddle to 375°F (medium heat). Lightly grease griddle.
MEASURE mix by lightly spooning it into measuring cup and leveling it off. WHISK pancake mix and water. Do not over-mix. Let batter stand 2 minutes. Add your cinnamon and nutmeg to the Krusteaz mix. Finally, add the pumpkin puree.
POUR slightly less than 1/4 cup batter per pancake onto griddle.
COOK 1-1 1/2 minutes per side. For light and fluffy pancakes, FLIP only once, when tops bubble and bottoms are golden brown.
STACK, and top with syrup or a cream cheese frosting thinned out to make the most delicious cakes.
"More.
Thank you."
