Prompt Wrote:Your organization's media department has asked you to appear on their YouTube channel in a series entitled “A day in the life of…”. What does your player's day to day routine look like and how much of that will you actually allow into the video for public consumption?
During the season, each day has a mix of consistency and change. There are certain things that I'm doing every day - personal care, training, evaluation of my status, really the obvious things. The rest goes in more of a weekly cycle going from evaluation of the last game and how our game plan and play execution worked, moving in to scouting, play design, and practice as we get ready for our next opponents. I think that one of the more interesting things for the fans to see would be two days after a game. There we're wrapping up analysis of what worked and what didn't in the previous game while we're really starting on talking about our upcoming match. I think that would show some of the breadth of what we cover while also going over elements that a fan might not know with regards to execution of our play calls and plans even if the results are poor. My personal routine other than on game days is pretty much the same (though sometimes reorganized to fit meetings in) so parts of that could be included.
As far as access, I'm fine with including anything that happens at the team's facilities. If they want to show more of my home life, I would want to make sure that I'd get to approve what goes in. I like our fans a ton and I'm sure our media guys have good intentions, but it doesn't hurt to be careful.
