Over the course of a single season, players can go from relative nobodies to household names everyone knows about. The progression of some players is a result of hard work in the weight room and stellar play on the field. But in one instance it is a result of switching positions, going from a backup quarterback to a safety.
The man I speak of is Torque Lewith. When he announced he was coming into the NSFL, he was determined to work hard and become a star QB in this league, however after he was drafted by the Yeti in the 11th round, he spoke with the coaching staff and they felt his physique and athleticism as a scrambling type QB might suit them better at another position. After deliberating about it, he made the choice to switch into a Safety.
As a safety, he's made a name for himself as one of those guys who are everywhere and anywhere in the field. Thus far he's accumulated 56 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 inteceptions, a fumble recovery and 4 passes defended. He's gone from a backup status to one of the scarier threats in the Yeti secondary. If that is not the definition of most improved, then I certainly do not know what is. He was drafted to sit on the bench, nobody knew his name. Now as you look across the stadium in Colorado, you see Lewith Jerseys being worn by hundreds of fans each game.
