Pythons S31 Draft Class
The Portland Pythons welcomed 8 new hatchling to the Pythons nest over this past season. I thought I’d give 5 mins of my time talking about both what the player has achieved as well as the user in the LR.
Round:1 Pick:5 (5 OA)
User: @visceralpotamus
Name: Pasta the Turtle
Position: LB
Well what can we say about the Pythons first pick in the draft, Pasta has been one hell of a user. They’ve been a fantastic presence within the locker room being vocal and providing constant excitement and entertainment in the locker room. For a new user in the ISFL this is more than could have been hoped for. A small, but I think, extremely critical part of Pasta attitude was his willingness to swap positions when asked too. He was drafted as an O line member but sealed to a line backer role to aid the team. This says enough about who the Pythons were fortunate to draft. A further bonus is the amount of TPE he managed to earn in his first season, amassing a total of 260 TPE at the time of writing.
Now for his player, Pasta has amassed a 91 tackles in his first season. Leading the Pythons in tackles. In addition to his 91 tackles he managed to achieve 8 tackles for loss. More amazingly he forces two fumbles and recover both of them. Though his most outstanding performance is the 10 sacks he recorded, matching the number of sacks for any linebacker in the DSFL. He also snagged a single INT which he took to the house for a pick 6. A very very good first season in the DSFL and hopefully the start of great things for Portland as the face of their defence.
Round: 2 Pick: 5 (13 OA)
User: @PugWalrus
Name: Spicy Ron
Position: DE
Simply put another hit for Portland here in the second round. Spicy was Portland second defensive player in as many round. Similar to Pasta, Spicy Ron has been a great addition to the Pythons locker room. A very quick witted member of the Locker room he never fails to put a smile on my face reading some of his comment about stuff. He’s been great presence. A special method should go to both Pasta and Spicy’s chatter about best build paths for their players. Both are constantly asking great questions about effects attribute have on the sim etc.
Now for Spicy player, he had frankly an outstanding season for a rookie. Making 82 tackles with 11 tackles for loss. He forces five fumbles in the season and managed to recover two then, however was unable to bring any of those into a defensive score. As a defensive tackle he was able to sack the Quaterback 10 times in his rookie season, hopefully he’ll be able to increase that number next year and form a great defensive platform with himself and Pasta. It must be noted that one of his 10 sacks was tackles in the end zone and thus resulted in a safety. He was able able to add a single INT as well.
Round: 3 Pick: 5 (21 OA)
User: @SecondSucks22
Name: Fenrir Greyback
Position: DT
With the 3rd round selection the Pythons continued to add to their defensive strength by selection a second DT in as many rounds. Fenrir, hopefully would provide some of his werewolf strength to the front line, was to provide a strong start to his DSFL career earning at a great rate and looked to be one of the best late rounds picks in this draft. However he failed to continue earning at the same rate an eventually dropped off the earning platform, maxing out at 115 TPE. Hopefully he’ll be able to come back next season and continue earning those sweet TPE’s and build upon a decent first season.
A decent season for Fenrir all things considered, contributing to 49 tackles with 3 for loss. However his production of pressure on the Quarterback was limited only mangling two sack all season, though one of those sacks was for a safety. Hopefully he’ll be able to improve over the next season and recorded a high number of sacks and tackles next season. If your reading this Fenrir, we would love to have you back in the Portland nest.
Round: 4 Pick: 5 (37 OA)
User: @BeastTakeover
Name: Marquess Brown
Position: RB
BeastTakover started the seaon of well quickly earning a good amout of TPE however that dropped off as the season went on. However when it came to the on-feild production Marquess was a monster for a rookie, rushing for just shy of 800 yards with 200 attempts, more amazingly he manged to find the end zone 9 times over the season. If you find your way back to the ISFL, you've got one hell of start to your career and bright things ahead of you.
Portland had 5 other selection in the S31 DSFL draft, taking some great prospects who were as follows Jakobi Manoux – TE (61st OA) / Timothy Teboat – TE (45 OA) / Lockk’Eddd Upmf – S (53 OA)
Regardless of the
Unfortunately, I was never able to get to know any of these hatchling very well at all, as most fled the nest at a far too younger age. Each would make a great addition to the Portland locker room and every single member of the Portland locker room would be externally happy to each and every single one of you back in the locker room. In conclusions, the Portland draft was a great success making see real great picks and forming what will hopefully be a very strong defense for the future of Portland. It really is looking like it’ll be a great few season ahead for Portland. I can’t wait to be helping out in the future and helping to build a strong Portland dynasty with @TubbyTim69 and every single member of the Portland locker room.
