9. Through a random lottery drawing, you have been named the league's new commisioner for a day. Congrats! What improvements would you make to the league if you had the power to do whatever you wanted?
I think the main course of action I'd take at this time is change up the questions for Ultimus Week. It's something like my 6th season now and the questions have gotten stale. I feel like I've answered half of them, and the other half, I have no good answer for. Maybe a few lines, but certainly not enough to write 400+ or even 800+ words on it.
But it is much easier said than done of course. I generally find that the topics for point tasks are well done. They are varied, and I've not seen the same topic twice. I can understand that it's pretty much impossible to have that sort of quality over the course of Ultimus Week, but perhaps be a bit more lenient on point earning. Maybe it's just me, but the sim quality is not high enough, and careers don't feel long enough, to justify how much work it is to max earn. And I know some reading this will be like, "Are you serious? You don't even do shit besides a few shitposts every offseason or whatever and the weekly point task." Hey man, it's a lot, and it's a big part of why I'm never max earning ever again.
But I also feel like loosening up the reins a bit would also reduce the workload of those running the league, too. It's a win-win. Especially with talks of expansion, you need users to stay, and certainly after Juno retires, I probably won't be in the ISFL again. Maybe there were incidents in the league's history that I'm unaware of, but, for example, would it really be that bad if money was easier to make? Would league quality decrease that much? I remember early on in the league, I saw someone earn like $75 million in one season, just by chronicling every single week/game his player played in, like a sports report. I started to read it, and stopped caring by week 3 or so. And yet, what I took away from that was, man if I ever wanted to max earn again, just do that and earn myself a whole career's worth of bank in a single season. I just find it really silly to do. It's a waste of time and effort to write, a waste of time for users to read, a waste of time for people to grade, and a waste of electricity/storage, even if that last part is absolutely miniscule.
I dunno, maybe fiction just isn't for me.

13. Expansion Expansion Expansion! The league seems to love talking about it, but it has still not happened. Tell us why it should happen / should not happen soon?
I've written about expansion before, but this really ties into my post above. You need users for it, and I don't have the insight as to whether we are ready for it. I can only offer my singular viewpoint of the league not being interesting enough to retain me as a user. But also, having 14 teams is not aesthetically pleasing whatsoever. We really need 16 teams. It's a nice even number. I remember reading an article from Cole Maxwell talking about how he doesn't give a shit about the development or storyline of any game, team, etc. that doesn't involve his player, and that rings true with me, too. It would be like caring about the plot of every D&D game that's going on at the games store you play at, or something. But even then, the league moves really fast, and there is no time to process or marinate. I bet even if I won the Ultimini or Ultimus, that it wouldn't even be that enjoyable. You'd celebrate for like a day, maybe two, and then go right back to writing shit for Ultimus Week or another shitpost to take advantage of the 2x media payout or what have you. Others will just shit talk your team for the next 6 weeks or so until another team wins it. That's how I would imagine it, but hey, I haven't won one yet so I can't confirm.
So I would really discuss and consider lowering the barrier of entry for people even further. Sometimes I watch what happens in Tijuana, and I can sometimes see GMs struggling to get a user to get in activity checks, but those users' players could be put to use much more effectively, given the lower TPE cap of the DSFL. I'll just speak for myself, but I feel the TPE disparity is pretty damn big between max earners and casual earners, but the sim doesn't seem to reward max earning enough. "Sim's gonna sim", sure, and if that's the motto, then who gives a shit about max earning?
Anyways, maybe it's 'cause I'm an old fart or whatever, but I feel like my singular run through this league, that isn't even over yet, has given me most of what the ISFL has to offer. For that, I thank those who created and administrated the league, and those that continue to. It wouldn't exist without you, and from my perspective, most of you guys do the best you can, and that is admirable effort.
