Colorado Yeti running back Boss Tweed has made big strides during his sophomore season. During Season 1, Tweed rushed for 547 yards and 1 touchdown. Through 13 games of Season 2, Tweed has rushed for 978 yards and 4 touchdowns. A big part of this has come from Tweed's elevation to a lead back role after splitting carries during his rookie season. Tweed has adapted well to the heavy workload and currently has the third highest rushing yards total among all running backs in Season 2. Tweed's rushing appears to be less efficient in Season 2 as his yards per carry has fallen from 3.7 to 3.6. However, this is part of a large trend of running backs in the NSFL seeing a large decrease in yards per carry. Among running backs with at least 100 carries, Tweed's YPC tied for 8th in the NSFL in Season 1. In Season 2, Tweeds YPC is tied for first in the NSFL among running backs with at least 100 carries. Not only is Tweed putting up some of the best rushing stats in the NSFL this season, he is doing it despite running behind what many believe to be the second worst offensive line in the league. If Tweed continues to improve, he may one day be in the discussion for best running back in the NSFL.
