Quarterback Mike Boss is the most improved player of season 2.
Playing in 11 games last season, Boss ended up arguably the worst starting quarterback in the league. He had 2334 yards with 11 touchdowns and a staggering 19 interceptions, most in the league. Frankly he was terrible and those are statistics that make you want to change your starting quarterback.
But in season 2, Boss has shown what he can do. He leads the league in yards with 3348 and the season is not even over yet. And his once abysmal touchdown to interception ratio is much better, at 20 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
Obviously Boss still has a lot to improve, his 16 interceptions are a cause for concern, but he leads the league in yards and has the second most touchdowns and the second best quarterback rating. It is a vast improvement from last season.
Despite his improvement, the Orange County Otters have had similar success on the field. They went 9-5 last year and are 8-5 so far this season. It is certainly interesting, as you would expect a bigger jump in success. Nevertheless, Boss has been fantastic and deserves recognition for his vast improvements and will be one of the main candidates for MVP this year and probably for years to come.
