Day 14 - Morning
We finally reached the Americas! After two weeks of sailing here I've arrived safe and sound in Galveston, Texas. It's a lot warmer than Ireland, that's for sure!
I arrived to a letter waiting for me, from home. It's my beautiful mother letting me know my younger cousin, Grug, wanted to follow in my footsteps. Except he didn't want to follow, he wanted to get there before me, the bastard! He's always been better in school, faster, and more handsome than me. Can't he just let me do this one by myself? His flight leaves Ireland in a few hours and he'll be in California before I am, since we've booked an RV to get us there.
I need to come up with a cunning plan to change his mind. This will take some thinking.
Day 14 - Afternoon
I sent Grug an email containing screenshots of the current temperatures here. He's typically shirtless and at the beach when it hits 75F back home. So I sent him a screenshot of the 110F summer weather forecasts.
Day 14 - Evening
I got a response from Grug. "I'm gonna give cricket a shot, headed to London".
Crisis averted.
