Nephew, I am so proud of your sack numbers from last weeks game! My goodness, you've put on some muscle and it's clear this weight gain hasn't slowed you down one bit. In fact, you've gotten faster!
I've heard that you hope to follow in my foot steps and become an ISFL player. I'm so happy to hear that you're aiming to do what I do. To help you prepare, let me give you a little insight into what each day of mine looks like. At about 5am I wake up so that I can make a quality breakfast and enjoy half an hour of yoga to stretch my limbs out. At 6am, I drive to the practice facilities and begin lifting weights. I transition to HIIT by 7am before meeting with coaches at 7:30am. From 7:30 to 9am we watch film and then hit the fields for practice from 9 to 11am. Oh, your practices are only one hour long? No no no in the ISFL we have 2-3 hour practices twice a day and that doesn't count weight room time. Why do I do extra workouts? Well you won't make the ISFL if you don't.
Some of the most impressive people tend to work 8-10 hours a day on building their mental state, they're very smart, and have careers that last a life time. With the ISFL, I probably work 14-16 hours a day, my body is destroyed, and if I'm lucky I'll play another 4-5 years before regression forces me into retirement. But hey, if you want to do what I do, stop waking up at 11am this summer and get up at 5am to start training. You've got this!
