Doc is no stranger to helping out the youth, he is an advocate for after school programs that not only focus on bettering your athletic skills but also offer a place for kids to go and get extra tutoring as well. That being said, it gets lonely on the farm sometimes. Doc would take this opportunity to take his young relative on full time to show them what it's really like to be a pro athlete. You can’t just focus on the skills you have, you need to focus on the full picture of what is going on around you. It’s not always about strength, it's about leadership and knowledge when you get into the field. He would do this in two ways, work on the farm that needs to get done daily, and everything that goes into that. Followed up by the training of your mind, reviewing tapes, looking for opportunities, reading and knowing a playbook, what to look at for your field vision. These are the things that will get you to be a professional in the big leagues. Hard work and dedication.
