The opening weeks of S32 are in the books and the Chicago Butchers have definitely lost their magic from last season as terrifying road warriors. Key defensive veteran Damian Blackfyre Jr leaving the team has left a bigger hole on the team than many probably anticipated, but it is slowly being filled up by Tessie Garciaparra who is a new rookie that is trying her best to fill the massive shoes left by the former safety. The empty shoes are also along the offensive line as the Butchers find that once fairly reliable offense also having some issues as the endzone evades them more times than it should through these first few weeks. Even more of a disappointment would be defensive end Jason Garciaparra who, despite having a forced fumble, still has under fifteen tackles and only two tackles for loss. There is no telling how his season will turn out but it is not looking pretty so far as the team expects bigger things from a defensive end that leads the defensive line in terms of TPE which is not a hard bar to surpass. The hopeful Butchers will not see the same level of success that they did last season if this season continues to play out the same way that the beginning of it has gone.
