It was Bender's first game in the big leagues. He had just switched from TE to LB so things were a bit awkward for him, even though he had played defense most of his career. Gotta get back in the groove, ya know? The opposing team was driving. I don't even remember who it was. Let's just say NOLA. Because they're always the villains in my fantasies. Anyways, they were at the 15-yard line or something. Bender hadn't had a tackle yet. The offense runs a stretch play and Bender makes a miraculous tackle to bring the ball carrier down. Then the refs throw a flag for a horse collar tackle. A horse collar?? Are you frickin kidding me? Sure, yeah Bender extended his arm to make the play. But why penalize him for that? If anything, he wrapped his arm around the player's neck and chock slammed him. Definitely not a horse collar tackle though.
