10. Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league.
I do not know if I have shared the origin story of Beeg Beeg Yoshi in great detail in the past before, but here it goes for this Ultimus Week task. Beeg Beeg Yoshi hatched from an egg on top of a mountain on Yoshi's Island only a few years ago (dinosaurs age fast, or something like that, I am not a dinosaur expert if this was not evidently clear enough). Immediately, the other Yoshis realized that something was up, for this Yoshi was BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEG.
Beeg Beeg Yoshi tried out a ton of different sports to see which one would fit him best. He was quite an excellent sumo wrestler for a while, but it wasn't satisfying him enough. Beeg Beeg Yoshi wanted MORE. He tried basketball, and dunking the ball was fine and all, but granted he wasn't quite agile on the court (he did fit like half of the court by himself though so that wasn't necessarily an issue). Again, he WANTED MORE. He tried ice hockey but was not agile enough to be a good defenseman. He also wasn't that great of a goalie, despite fitting nearly 99.9% of the net. He wanted MORE. So he tried baseball, and that didn't work at all.
Eventually, he tried out gridiron football, where things naturally worked out for the big and heavy dinosaur, as he plowed through the competition like it was nobody's business. Realizing that playing gridiron football was his true calling, Beeg Beeg Yoshi departed from Yoshi's Island in search of a career in the ISFL. He first played college football at Squidward Community College, where he was coached by the legendary, the one and only, Squidward Tennisballs himself.
Wait, sorry. Squidward Tenatacles. Anyhow, thanks to Squidward's outstanding coaching, Beeg Yoshi got drafted by the Kansas City Coyotes of the DSFL a few seasons ago. Recently, he was drafted by the Austin Copperheads of the ISFL. Currently, Yosh is with the Coyotes, where he is going to go and try to get as many pancakes as possible.
13. Expansion Expansion Expansion! Tell us why you think the league should expand / not expand or include any ideas (in words) for team branding ideas you have or team locations.
I am almost always a huge fan of expansion simply because it allows the opportunity for more new blood to enter the league, and if we know anything about human anatomy and physiology, more blood circulation is good.
I don't know enough about the ISFL to have a gauge on if expansion is an absolutely necessary need, but I am certain that a small expansion of one or two teams will always be a welcome change. I really don't have any good expansion locations, if I'm being honest, but I would probably go for somewhere really random instead of a more contemporary setting just to make it more unique (for example, there being a ISFL team in Yellowknife was very cool. I had no clue that they could play football in the Northwest territories since it's usually super cold there like all year long, or at least that's the vibe I'm getting). On that note, maybe a football team in Yukon just for the sake of it. Something like the Whitehorse Knights (if there is an ISFL or DSFL team that's already branded as the knights or something medieval I apologize in advance).
I honestly wouldn't hate the idea of another Canadian team just for the heck of it. There are lots of canadian cities that are very hyped about football in real life. For example, I think Hamilton is very much a canadian football city, since the Tiger Cats are about as old as the country itself. Maybe a football team there could work, and it helps to expand the lore of sim universe Hamilton Ontario since there's the Hamilton Steelhawks over in the Simulation Hockey League.
I'd imagine that whatever expansion location is picked out, however, it would have to be North American based, but if I recall correctly there is a team in London, UK? Or is it London, Ontario or another London in the US? I do not know.
