18. The ultimate teammate on the Kansas City Coyotes is Beeg Beeg Yoshi. Yosh as a user is the co GM of Newfoundland in the SHL, and they’ve been an incredible presence in every locker room they’ve been a part of. I was thrilled we were drafted to Kansas City together and he’s continued to be a great presence, constantly starting conversation in the locker room and being the bright ray of sunshine that he always has been. On the field, he struggled a bit his rookie season, but has really come into his own in his second season, finishing 4th overall in pancakes among DSFL lineman while allowing 2 sacks. While Kansas City had our struggles this season, he kept the vibe positive, to the point that most of us weren’t disappointed that we missed the playoffs due to the atmosphere he helped build. Since I’ll be getting called up, I won’t be on the same team as him next season, but Yosh is the perfect teammate.
21. I wasn’t here for the old sim, but I am absolutely a fan of the ISFL sim engine. As someone who came over from the SHL, it seems that the engine allows for more random outcomes than the SHL. Maybe that’s due to the way the league is set up too, but while the SHL has become completely predictable, the ISFL has a lot more difference on which teams are successful, for the most part. The sims themselves are good to watch, although I do think the engine itself is more boring to watch than FHM, but I also inherently think football is a more boring sport than hockey. Since I don’t own the FHM engine I do not know the intricacies of stuff like playbooks, but I haven’t heard as many complaints about this engine as I have FHM so it must be doing something right. Overall, I think the current engine is one of the big advantages the ISFL has.
27. My opinions have not changed much when it comes to team branding. I still think the best branding in the league is Yellowknife. I love the Wraith logo and absolutely love the color scheme. Other strong brandings throughout the ISFL and DSFL include the Kansas City Coyotes (love the logo and the purple), Orange County Otters (Otters are always a great choice and the orange is a natural fit), and the San Jose Sabercats (The black looks great and I love the design of the logo. Looks very professional). In terms of logos I am not a fan of, Baltimore always stands out as I think its boring and I don’t really like the yellow. Bondi Beach also has a bad logo in my opinion as it’s too messy and the green just doesn’t work for me. On a lesser scale, I don’t really like Chicago’s. I get what they’re going for but it’s another boring logo and the color scheme is boring to match.
28. I absolutely think my player should win the DSFL Offensive Lineman of the Year. My player led the league in pancakes with 68, while only two other player, A Kicker on Tijuana and Clifford Wilson on Norfolk each had 61 and 60 respectively. I also had one pancake allowed, which isn’t bad at all considering Kansas City wasn’t a good team this season. Kicker had 0 playing for a very good Luchadores team, and Wilson had one playing for league leading Norfolk. I think relative to our teams I outperformed both of them and should be taking home the award. What is refreshing is there are also a lot of competitive non-bots for the award this season, such as my teammate Beeg Beeg Yoshi with 58 pancakes, Tiny Tim (Who may be a bot I’m not sure) on Portland with 54, D'Nickashaw Mangoldson on Tijuana with 52, and my favorite name Theo AwardsSystemIsBad on Bondi Beach with 51. But at the end of the day I think I was the best DSFL offensive lineman.
