The Sabercats couldn't have taken Blewitt with their next pick because their next pick was Round 3 Pick 5 (21 overall).
Both teams reached for a player. One took a player they HAD to reach for, the other did not.
If you look at the 5 picks between the 2 Liberty picks, 3 were Outlaws. They're not replacing Bronko any time soon. Otters have Boss, best QB in the league (arguably with Orosz) and the Wraiths have the aforementioned Orosz. So, reaching for the QB was the foolish move there.
The Outlaws having 3 picks before our next pick is exactly why we took Rove at 11. ADwyer is the best GM in the league. When a team, like the Outlaws, has no holes, sometimes the best move is take a player that your best competition needs. We thought the Outlaws would take Rove just to keep us from getting the best QB in the draft and thus making it harder to beat them.
We'll never know if ADwyer would have made that move, but Id bet Clifford Rove not on our team would give the Outlaws a better chance to win the Ultimius than having Charlie Law on their team.
