So as one of the GMs who made the Rove decision, we were between him or William Ridley (MacTonight). The Outlaws had a lot of picks, and very few (none?) holes to fill. What better way to take a shot in the dark than to grab the best QB and fuck Liberty out of a decent season? We thought "What am I willing to miss on here?"
We can survive without a 4th LB for a year, but if we don't have a good, active QB in the locker room at the beginning of this season, we're not going to be able to take the next step offensively for at least one more season. Christ is inactive, Brady is inactive. So many passes off target (hard to be intercepted when the ball is nowhere near anyone, including the defense). We NEEDED a strong QB, so we pulled the trigger.
Turns out, that worked out great, because we were able to trade up for another 3rd and grab both Ridley and our planned OL Meowls at that point. Feels good. Liberty lockerroom was like: :dj:
