I think affiliate teams would make the most sense. It provides a pipeline for NSFL teams to groom and recruit for specific positions while maintaining an active player base for development in the future.
Call up/send down system would need to be revamped and would probably make more sense if injuries were an actual part of the game. As it stands, it would make more sense to make a player wait until the off season to transition between leagues.
