Throughout his career Rick Sanchez has had the same pre-game routine. He goes to Burger King and orders a large Lucky Charms Shake. He then takes it home and adds to scoops of protein powder, half a lemon, and 3 shots of rebel yell bourbon. If he is feeling particularly crappy that day he’ll throw in 2 advil. He blends all of this together and proceeds to drink it while watching Major League 2. After he finishes his drink he proceeds to eat 2 broiled chicken breasts and a cup of broccoli all while listening to the gettysburg address on repeat.
When asked why this is his routine, Sanchez stated “I love Lucky Charms and the bourbon helps to take the edge off.” In 7 years Sanchez has never missed his routine once. The one time it got close Texas was playing San Diego State and there wasn’t a Burger King in driving vancitiy. So one of the trainers went to a local grocery store and bought the lucky charms and vanilla ice cream and made the shake for Rick. His results for that game was 5 tackles, 1 sack and 2 forced fumbles. So it looks like this routine is sticking around for the time being.
