The newest season of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" will focus on 4 wives of Orange County Otters players, ditching the usual starlets, Vicki, Kimberly and Jo De. Bravo felt their current lineup was growing stale.
The first housewife is Alaina Hamilton, wife of Offensive Lineman, Cliff Hamilton. In the first Episode, Alaina confronts Jemelle, wife of D'Brickashaw Ferguson in the organic cookie aisle of Whole Foods. The two argue about whether coconut oil is better for your body or bad for the environment. Trying to split up the fracas is Alfred Darnell, boyfriend of recently retired Romeo DeVitt. (Bravo felt to keep their gay audience tuned in after ratings for Flipping Out began to plummet so they wanted to incorporate a gay man into the lineup. Despite DeVitt retiring and coming out of the closet and not really being an Otter anymore, his boyfriend was asked to join the cast.) Alfred successfully breaks up the quarrel and they meet Marlene Alraune, Marc Spector's on again-off again girlfriend, for frozen yogurt at a nearby Pinkberry. After they do some light shopping, the 4 retreat to Alaina and Cliff's mansion in the hills of Costa Mesa for martinis and to try on their new outfits. The episode closes as Alfred calls Marlene's McQueen inspired Lagerfeld dress a "Fashion Nightmare not even the haughty Tim Gunn could Make it Work." and Marlene throws her Campardio Cordial based martini in his face.
