In a fairly stacked QB-class, with 6 quarterbacks already entered into the NSFL, it's quite the surprise that a newcomer, Ethan Hunt would be so courageous or foolish enough to enter. Despite what scouts may think, Hunt was a great quarterback for Idaho State University during his time with the Bengals. Heavily pursued by ISU after three of their four quarterbacks either transferred schools, graduated or dropped out, Hunt was supposed to originally be ISU's stopgap QB, until they could find a suitable replacement. However, from back-up to starter in his sophomore year, Hunt has been a welcomed surprised to the ISU Bengals as he emerged quickly as a great talent. So what's up with Hunt? He hasn't been getting any hype, unlike the other quarterbacks in the draft.
The main concern about Hunt is his size. He's 6'0", 215 lbs. He's not the biggest QB out there and he'll get killed if he's not careful. However, he's fast, agile, and has an accurate throw. It was his agility and intelligence that allowed him to succeed at ISU, not his strength or throwing ability. If Hunt is to beat out his competition, he will have to use his strengths to his ability. He'll have to be faster and smarter than the other quarterback prospects.
Can Hunt beat out the competition? Sure. Again, he will have to play to his strengths and figure out strategies while in the pocket and on the fly. If he is supposed to live up to his expectation of being a mobile and strategically flexible quarterback, he'll have to demonstrate these qualities to the NSFL GMs, scouts and at the combine.
