When you offer a bot a contract, that's when you can allocate their stats. So that will mostly have to do with early on and of a team trades away an OL.
As far as buffing current OL. That 50 is not added as TPE. It is added to the base so say if an OL is swapping to LB, they can't get 50 TPE to swap over.
As far as adding 50 tpe worth of stats to builds, as long as the OL already pumped those points in and raised those stats to they based arhectype buffs, they can flex this 50 points whenever.
An example is say an archetype was buffed to have 70 strength and 60 pass and run blocking. If your player has already achieved that, you can allocate the 50 however you want.
On the flip side of agility was increased to 70 instead of strength and your player hasn't matched the archetype changes, you have to put points in to that. Basically you can t have attributes lower than the base archetypes. After that, I don't care.
