So a lot of people talked about this during the DSFL draft and I want to give my take on it and want to hear what everyone else thinks:
I sent an email out to all of the GMs of the DSFL regarding the draft and how they went about their scouting. I had talked to 4 GMs prior to the draft about how I might fit on their team. The questions they asked dont matter. I let them know what I wanted out of my 1 year in the DSFL, such as a very large contract (relative to dsfl) as well as being a punt and kick returner for the team. I also told them that for the teams that did not draft me, I would hold out to be traded. The emails I sent out to the other 2 GMs that did not send me a PM prior to 30 minutes before the draft, that I would not want to be drafted by that team for many reasons. Yes, I may have questioned their intelligence, but that was supposed to be in character and may not have been conveyed that way. I wanted to be traded to a team that did scout me because I felt that they were actually interested in me as a player.
My reasoning for this is that as a DSFL GM, I would expect them to be engaging with the prospects. they are in essence a mini rookie-mentor. By not sending an email to the prospects, I felt that they were not doing their part of being a welcoming GM and a GM that I would want to play under.
Now, I am a returning player and most people know who I am. They know I disappeared for a month due to being busy and not wanting to deal with petty shit. Yes, that second part may have been childish, but true. I retired my player and recreated. So maybe GMs thought that they dont have to PM me because they know who I am, which is slightly understandable, but it should still be a common courtesy to contact people you wish to draft. Maybe they didn't want to draft me. so be it. they dont have to send me a PM, but I wanted to let them know that if they were going to draft me, that I would have liked to know they were interested. It wasnt like I was a later round player that they will take if I fall to them, people were talking about me going first overall. No offense to those who did go later or were projected later, but I was following what people were putting out, and they said first round. You can see how I wasnt pissed about this sort of thing with my previous player, Matthew Vincent. I was happy to go to whatever team drafted me, regardless of who PMd me because it is sometimes a crap shoot at that stage of the draft. Someone may fall farther than you expect and you might need to make accommodations.
I sent out 16 messages in the span of about an hour. no, it didnt take me that long, but these DSFL GMs had 6 DAYS to figure out the whole draft thing. 6 days to send out PMs, 40 if they covered everyone. I could have done that easily in a day, and probably more accurately in under 2 hours.
And about Jiggly's comment on the stream of it being 'too much' for sending a PM of this strength in character to a DSFL GM: people are always applauding those who have great, in-depth back stories posted in media. This is similar, but of course I did it to specific people and it may turn them off. Understandable. but why would you want to discourage the act of being in character early on? isnt that what a lot of you want from this league? especially for someone who isnt a true rookie on this site, wouldnt you expect that a little bit? And whats with the discussion of asking all DSFL GMs not to draft me until later rounds? isnt that collusion? hmmmm.
If you must know what each of the two messages I sent out were, I will gladly PM them to you, but I will not post them here. You will see that I dont swear in my messages nor make statements about 'whipping my dick out' unlike some of the messages received back. I was acting in a professional manner, stating my requests, and ending the message. also for those watching the stream, when I said sorry, I wasnt appologizing for the messages I sent. my stream was slow and I was about 1 minute behind all that talk. I was responding to Kckolbe about me going 1 pick before he drafted, saying sorry, in the context that he wasnt able to draft me.

Hopefully this settles everything. let me know. I jumped around a bit when writing so I have no idea if it makes sense or if I am being redundant in some areas.
