Controversy
When thinking about controversy in the NSFL, one might have thoughts of someone having multi-players or multi-accounts where the same person is controlling and perpetrating the lives and roles of many players over the roster of a couple teams. This is mostly beneficial if many of those players are on the same team, where the benefits are endless, having more active players on the roster helps those teams become more successful. Winning championships even. The other controversy someone might write about has to do with the mass retirement of one organization. This for all intensive purposes is bad for a team and a league who is already struggling to be successful due to the lack of active participating players. Those two examples are deep and heavy and negative, but where I’m looking for my controversy is on the lighter side.
After recently listening to the season 5 NSFL draft telecast, I was appalled by two things. The first was the lack of coverage on the leagues first and second round picks. There was no depth in coverage, two players were interviewed and only 4 or 5 even talked about. There was more time spent discussing other topics than the actual draft taking place. Secondly, how is no one talking about the 5 minutes of interruption by TLK’s mother, vacuuming. It shut the entire telecast down audibly. Nobody could hear anything else over the vacuum. This was confirmation we, all NSFL players, are indeed a bunch of 20-something and 30-somethings living in our mother’s basements, playing games. Sad really.
I laughed my ass off when I heard this and gave me the idea to write on it. I looked for any response to the telecast to find any mention of it, to no avail, I found nothing. It needed to be talked about. It was funny.
