Asher Montain would absolutely notify his GM and/or the accounting office, and he would make sure that the money was returned OR confirm whether it was some sort of bonus that he wasn't aware of. Being a league veteran and one of the best defensive players in the league, he has been well compensated and has the accompanying sponsorship deals to supplement his contract income. Given that he didn't blow all of his money in his early years, it is not like he is yearning or needing the extra few million dollars. But, even if he could put it to good use, he knows that is not the right move. Frankly, he would also be surprised at anyone that would suggest doing otherwise. Firstly, you are working for a major corporation that has entire staffs of people crunching numbers and delivering reports about financial performance and so on. Additionally, you have to expect that the books get audited regularly. If they look at what the cap space was reported as but there is MILLIONS of dollars unaccounted for, that isn't a faux pas that ownership is going to tolerate or "waive off" and just eat that cost. Therefore, as a leader of the organization, former first round pick, and morally upstanding individual, he'd only take the money if it was intentional.

As mentioned before, Blago Kokot is a man of the people. If Kokot would get access to extra money like that he would use the money to help people and the world somehow. The first option could be to donate the money to a worthy cause back in Croatia. For example, donate to a charity that hands out sporting equipment to schools. Another equally solid option could be to donate the money to multiple charities and help as many people and organizations as possible. Kokot likes animals, so animal shelters nearby could be a perfect option.
Would Kokot return the money? No. Kokot believes that those who are careless with their money deserve to be punished for it. He is not a cruel individual, so the punishment would be a lesson delivered via money being donated to charity. I reckon Kokot would still let the GMs know later. Once the money is donated to charities, there is no way the team is going to ask charities to give the money back. That would be a PR disaster. In that sense, by spending the money Kokot gives resources to those who need it the most, positive publicity to the team, and most importantly the team learns a lesson on how to handle money correctly. ![]() Thanks Slothman07!
I have signed a one-year contract extension with my team because I’m not quite to the point of a long term career deal. It’ll pay for a couple of weeks of weekly training, but it won’t get me enough money to max out my potential with tier six equipment. I used to have a steady income writing media with my writing partner. We would cut huge checks for making up ish about different teams and people wouldn’t bother reading, but who cares, we get paid by the word. Nowadays, my writing partner has moved on and upward to bigger things in this league and no longer needs this outlet of money. And I’m still down here grinding by and waiting to see if anyone will grade my subpar graphics this week so I can pay for my next meal (weekly training).
So it came as a surprise when I went to check my bank app to see if my contract check came in and the total was 4 million dollars more than the agreed upon contract. I began to rack my brain to recall if there was a signing bonus. There’s no way because the bonus is more than what I make for the one-year contract. There has to be a mistake. I call my GM and let them know of the mistake without question. It’s not my money. It’s not my opportunity to donate to a charity. Someone made a mistake and it’s my responsibility to be honest because that’s what I would appreciate if the roles were flipped. ![]()
Man, if my team accidentally transferred over $4,000,000 more dollars into my bank account I would sprint to the owner and tell him to take it back just as quick as it was transferred. I'm a guy that wants to win and that money can buy another player or retain another player to help our football team. Give that money back and give me another player! In addition to that, I like to live my life doing the right things. I would want someone to return something to me that I had accidentally misplaced. Is misplaced even the right word? This is a perfect example of the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Hopefully in doing this the management would view me as a righteous individual and keep me around and not trade me even though I don't produce results. I think I may also suggest to management they look into getting a new payroll director that can ensure they aren't wasting money because not everyone will be as honest as Miles Weperom. I imagine if Sal Ami got an extra $4,000,000 in his bank he'd spend it all before he went to sleep. He's got a pretty strange toe nail collection of famous celebrities so he'd spend a good amount of that on paying people for their toe nails. Maybe even all of it. @Gbeck765

So I go to my bank account and find out i have 4 million dollars more than I thought I had? You want to know how I would react, well if I am totally honest with you I probably wouldn't notice such a tiny amount money considering how vast my finances are, it is bare a drop in the ocean for me, I am the best quarterback (and by that extension the player in the whole league after all. But if I some how did notice this tiny extra amount of cash in my bank I would probably not give it back, I am pretty sure that Austin don't need it either. So then I could spend it how I like, well as you can imagine i am just the most humble and generous of the players current playing the game of football and so i would probably give this time y amount of 4 million dollars to some charity. Maybe a charity i care very deeply for, like the blood Bank or is there a charity that encourages more places to be completely covered by the sun? Any way the answer is charity, what a guy I am, no go away I am trying to change.

I'm too much of a goody goody for this one, so in real life I'd let him know. But let's just say hypothetically that the GM is like hey it's all good, you keep it - i.e. Phoebe and the bank that keeps giving her money in "Friends" - what would I do with it? Well, my church is replanting right now and about to fundraise $150-200k so I'd make that goal a breeze first of all. Then I'd set up a college fund for my kiddo and a retirement fund for me and the Mrs. That'd probably take, oh I don't know $2 million if I'm being VERY generous on retirement. So that leaves another $2 million to have fun with. I would probably use a portion to pay my mortgage and buy a couple new cars, but most of it would be spent on others. How can I make someone's day would be the question I have on repeat. Someone who is down on their luck and needs to make rent this month? How about we pay it for the year and help them save for something else. Someone is facing the prospect of having to drop out of college? Not anymore, they have a full ride. $2 million could legitimately change 100s of people's lives, and for it to have been excess money means I didn't have plans for it, so why not? In fact, were I ever to make this much money legitimately I would absolutely do the same thing. And it would be a freaking blast.

Extra money is always a welcome sight in the depleted bank account of a Turtle with a nasty addiction to Penne, Spaghetti and Fettucini. As such, extra funds would immediately be distributed into Pasta's personal credit at the Python cafeteria, as well as to a fund dedicated to ensuring there is always a palatable pasta option at the said cafeteria. Sometimes unsavoury options such as mac and cheese featuring that powdered crap, or even a quick marinara ketchup swap. There are simply unacceptable to a turtle with such a refined palate, so the extra funds would go a long way to ensuring he will not have to suffer through such affronts to his tastebuds. Finally, a certain amount would need to be kept aside as a travel voucher, as Pasta finds himself having to fly from his west coast home in the American city of Portland, Over to his East Coast digs in Canadian Newfoundland. At this point in the football season, Pasta is performing double duty as a defenceman for the Newfoundland Berserkers, and neither team has been comfortable with this arrangement, and therefore Pasta has had to cover the travel costs himself. While he understand his respective team's trepidation with him being a multiport athlete, it was having negative repercussions on his bank account.
