So I have already expressed my opinion on this in the discord chat but adding it here is definitely a very good idea as it is a PT. The best idea for a new card set is an Ultimus/Ultimini best of pack. People who won the Ultimus/Ultimini MVP get a special card that commemorates their momentous achievement in the biggest game of their career so far. Another fantastic idea is making team specific packs and program specific packs. Adding those would equally make the normal pack go down in price relative to the cost of the other packs, unless those are very expensive and they aren’t interested in increasing the rarity of cards possibly opened in a pack. One of my personal favorite ideas is adding position star players, so rarer versions of players who didn’t win awards but were stars at their position for an entire season. There is also the HOF packs, which is a one time purchasable pack that has 3 players in it that is guaranteed to give you a HOF program player but you could get three if the odds fall in your favor, but you could also get 2 common players with the HOF player and you won’t get much worth from that pack.

The main idea I had to add to the DOTTS system, if the goal is to take money out of circulation, is to have tiered packs of cards. Perhaps this can be done by making certain card types rarer than they are now, or simply make different packs for expensive. The main crux is to have packs that possess better chances at pulling higher tiered cards. Maybe keep the base pack at 500K, but also add an option that has a 90% chance to pull an awards card, but only contains one card, so they don't add up too quickly. Or maybe you could limit certain packs to only being pulled at certain times. To use this hypothetical "awards" pack, perhaps this could only be purchased once or twice a week, as opposed to the base pack, which you can buy one of every day. This both incentivizes earning money to purchase better packs with better card chances, but also limits just how many will be pulled, so the market is not simply dominated by those with the most cash. My only other idea would be to allow for cards to be exchanged among users for in-universe cash, so if I wanted to I could pay the person who pulled my card $10M for that card. But that is less likely to happen than my previous idea.

I don't really know too much about Dotts at all, being that I am a rookie. However, I think it would be cool if you could trade cards with people, or even build a roster out of your cards and use the Sim to play exhibition battles against another persons line-up. In that way, it is almost like a pokemon battle or similar to Madden Ultimate Team, which is my least favorite thing about Madden--mostly because microtransactions suck. But also, it would be really cool to add Stadiums (Let's go, Quack Shack!), old uniform cards (San Antonio Marshals, anyone?) or even GM's as cards that you can use for your team as well. I think there is a lot of potential for fun trading and game mechanics to come out of the Dotts program, but right now it just seems like a way to spend money or, if you are a savvy veteran ISFL player, bask in the nostalgia of teams and players from yesteryear. I don't yet see the appeal as a rookie, but as soon as I find out that Wasrabi has a Dott's card of his own, I will spend all my hard earned sticky cheddar on packs until I find him, and then I'll print the card and give it to my mama.

So, I’m not really that into trading cards. It’s gacha, but without the cute anime girls. At least here we have like three or four cute anime girls in there. But overall it’s just a bunch of burly dudes with weird names who are absolutely not my type. So yeah, not really that into collecting them. On the other hand, I think that there are two series that would be really interesting to add. The first would be GM characters. Mostly want this so I can finally get Alexandra Jones on something. But Lexi sorta normalized the use of “GM Characters” who each have their own unique personalities. It’d be nice to recognize these people and the users who have gone out of their way to really try to flesh out the whole NSFL game world.
My other idea is the Multi Series. We’ve had multis in this league. Some are forgotten, don’t really matter. Others are legendary, like the greatest punter of all time, Christiano Ronaldo. Are we celebrating these users, some of whom have been perma-banned from the site since? Not really. Maybe. I don’t know, I just feel like it’d be a really interesting series. I need my Jazzy J card available. ![]() [OPTION]S32: CAR: 0 \ RUS: 0 \ RUT: 0 \ CAT: 35 \ REC: 582 \ RET: 3

I think having a record breaker set would be cool. It could be based off season records, regular season game records, playoff records and or career records. Use the records as they stand now. Then each season there could be a special card released if and when someone breaks a record. They could be in tiers based on the records. The game records would have to be ranked by most impressive to least impressive record. Or you could have the rarity based off regular season, playoffs and career records. Leave out some of the negative records like QB interceptions, rushing and passing attempts, fumbles lost sacks allowed ect. You could even do team records with just the logo of the team and the record the team set like most sacks or ints in a game.
The cards would have the season, week and opponent on it. You could also have a description of the play in which the record happened. Another thought would to have a set of game changer cards. Highlight big plays that impacted important games whether it be playoff games or important regular season games that impacted playoff seating. Same as the record cards, have a description of the play which impacted the outcome of the game. You could have a card for a defensive back that made a game ending pick or a WR that made the winning TD. This would give lesser players who made huge plays recognition for their impact or highlight the reason why someone's in the HOF. You can also base the cards off the importance of the game. Playoff games obviously have more importance so those cards would be more rare. Every season a special card could be released with an important impact play from the previous season.
The addition of training cards to the international Simulation Football league is an exciting thing to see, even though this was not the first attempt at it, (It was first experimented in S3), it has brought excitement along players for the chance to pull their own player or learn a piece of history. The first new series I would introduce is called, "Against All Odds", which obviously is when a player has come in clutch or ends up becoming a draft steal late, for example S15 Yellowknife Defensive Tackle Ryan Leaf Jr or S22 Colorado Quarterback Wolfie McDummy. The next series I would introduce would be called "GeneXt" short for generation next, which would focus on the younger classes like S22,S23, etc. example cards would include players such as, Zamir Kehla, Colby Jack, Eddie Jeeta, and even Videl-San. The next series would come straight out of the popular sim engine, out of the park baseball 21, which the card series would be called, "Face of the Franchise", in which obviously, would focus on the best players in the history of each franchise, for example, Arizona’s could be Jay Cue or even Andrew Reese, and Austin’s could be Easton Cole or Rod Tidwell, Baltimore’s would be Avon Blocksdale for example.

Dotts finally got released, what amazing news! Despite I wasn’t the luckiest when I opened my first packs, I’m still happy it is here. The cards are amazing and the whole team did a wonderful job. Especially the special cards like Ultimus cards and awards cards are top notch. They all look really, really good. One thing thing that comes with ISFL trading cards is trading them. We need a market place, some center were we can offer cards, keep looking for ones we want to have and finalize that. Currently we only are able to hoard them, which only leaves the excitement of opening a pack left. If you get super lucky, you may get the cards you are looking for, but most probably another one already got it and may be willing to trade it.
A series we could think about is to add a draft special for each season. Over the course of the season, there are the recent draft picks available. I think about the first and maybe second round, special cards that represent the top draft picks for a limited time. Another series we could consider is a special for league record setters. There are many marks in the history of the league, which could be honored that way and would deserve a card like that. I’m not sure if we have Hall of Fame cards, but that would be another series which would deserve individual cards. ![]() ![]()
I don’t know a ton about Dotts and have little interest in buying any cards. However, I have enjoyed reading the pack reviews some people have put out in media. It’s interesting to learn about random players in the league who otherwise would not be talked about. So, any additions to Dotts cards that would encourage more interesting pack reviews are what I want to focus on.
One idea would be making cards based on the best season of a player’s career. You could list that player’s TPE for a specific season and create something like a record-setters card pack. I think this would encourage some interesting media as it would let readers learn more about league history. Another set idea that could encourage media would be an Ultimus winners card pack. This would feature any players that were on a team’s roster when they won an Ultimus. I think this could lead to some great media where someone could write about how a certain player helped their team win an Ultimus. Finally, another idea would be a GM card pack. This could list different ISFL team’s GMs and include their win-loss records. I think all three of the pack ideas I mentioned would encourage people to write media, which is my favorite thing about the Dotts packs. ![]() |
