And why does the player need to be there in the conversation? Irl agents talk with teams and only then bring the offer to the player right?

If you have a client that you know will be a FA after the season, what rules are you breaking if you go to a GM and say "hey, Cue is gonna be a FA after this season, do you have interest? What kind of contract are you able to offer? What plan would you have if he signed?"

No need for the player to be there. And even if you can't submit the offer to the player while he's still under contract, at least you have the basis for a proposition you can submit to your client as soon as FA starts.

I agree, I also feel like a player shouldn't be needed for a team to say to an agent that they're interested in a player they represent, and the negotiations beginning like that.

These are the agent rules. However I'm unaware of where to find it on the forums.

- Agents are not allowed to have any affiliations with teams in the NSFL or DSFL
- Agents can not have any players in the NSFL or DSFL
- Any such agency relationship will be terminated
- Having these things along with being an agent creates a conflict of interest, which would clearly fall under tampering

1. Any communication between and agent and GM regarding a player must include said player. Including, but not limited to: contract, trade, and general inquiries. Basically, if an agent is talking to a GM, there must be a player included in the communication as well.

2. Each agent must have a license from Head Office to act as an agent. License fee is $10mil per season (Ultimus to Ultimus).

3. An agent may have a league job to offset costs and they may take part in Twitter, Media and GFX.

4. Agents can’t be in a war room.

5. Agents must have been in the league for 5 full seasons prior to becoming agent.

6. NSFL GMs cannot hire agents for their players

Any agent acting outside these regulations will face punishment by Head Office, including possible site suspension.

Technically, I believe it's still a rule since I don't see anywhere to say it was abolished.

The issue is that creates a loophole in the whole thing where the agent can talk to a team, then the agent can go back and talk to the player and there is no punishment. All you're doing then is creating a middleman for tampering.

It is in the actual agent rules. It is stated in the rules that players have to be present for all contract negotiations.

Yeah, i can see that... But in this case, the agent has no part in this league. I mean, the only thing that he can do is to be in a conversation that would happen anyway between the GM and the player. Maybe he can help if he has some more negotiating abilities, but serves no purpose imo, with most players going for minimum contracts.

Let's also throw out there that tampering in General is a non sense rule. Teams just dont want to lose players. There should be a legal tampering period for upcoming FA's once the season is over. Teams have all season to resign players but once the season ends teams should be allowed to make pitches to upcoming FA's.

IMO this is a contributing factor to why there's so little movement in FA and why so many players take minimum contracts. Agents would encourage player movement and larger contracts, but the current rules neuter them and reduce their ability to do this.
