In his press conference after the Wraiths' Week 10 win against the Second Line, Boss Tweed announced that Season 10 will be his last in the NSFL and that he will be retiring at the end of the season. Tweed was drafted by the Colorado Yeti with the #99 overall pick in the Season 1 draft and played 6 seasons as a running back for the Colorado Yeti and 4 seasons as a linebacker for the Yellowknife Wraiths. In his 10 seasons, he won a championship, a Defensive Player of the Year award, a Linebacker of the Year award, a Top Performance of the Year award, and made 7 Pro Bowl appearances (He will try to make an 8th this season). Tweed is in the final year of a one year contract he signed for Season 10 and will retire at the end of the Wraiths' season after trying to make one last playoff run.
From an out of character perspective, this is a bittersweet moment. Boss Tweed was my first ever sim league character and will be the first sim league character I've retired. This was my first sim league, so I didn't really know what I was getting into when I first started, but it was a really fun experience. It was a fun journey to bring Tweed from a 17th round pick to a potential Hall of Famer. I'm happy with what I was able to accomplish with Tweed, to my knowledge I don't think I ever missed a TPE opportunity with him and I was able to build him into a pretty good player and win some awards and a championship. It will be sad to say goodbye, but I'm satisfied with what I was able to accomplish with Tweed's career and am ready to get started with my next player.
I won't do a big long list of names, but I just wanted to say thank you to all of the teammates and GMs I've gotten the chance to play with during Tweed's career. It was a pleasure getting to play with each and every one of you and you helped contribute to making this a great experience for me. And to those I never got the chance to team up with, thanks for making some good players to compete against and for contributing to making this a great league. Overall, I'm really glad I joined the NSFL and stuck with it and am looking forward to seeing what my next chapter in the league will be. Thanks everyone!
