I think I was generous with the number of players I assumed would reach 400 TPE cause I didn't want to be called out for something like giving false numbers which would discredit what I'm trying to say with this article. Unfortunately if you don't think you'll hit 400 TPE then that's just another player the league won't be getting as a utility player, driving my point home further.

Not arguing the entire post, but to nitpick on these smaller points. A 200-300 TPE player in a position like defensive line, linebacker, safety, tight end, even running back is 100% useful in the pro levels assuming they build properly. Active or inactive. You get me an 85 str 85 speed balanced DE with 240 TPE and he can find a starting job on any NSFL team right now.

That's the problem though, isn't it? There's such a lack of players already that teams would scramble for an inactive DE below 300 TPE. It's an early indication of what's to come. You're not the first person to bring this up, but at least you didn't say that things are fine and dandy like the other person who said this.

My point is actually a bit different. It's not that they can find a starting spot because there's no good players. My point is that a lot of these positions you don't need 800-1200 TPE players in, it just doesn't make a huge difference. If a team has two 800 TPE LBs they would be better off using a cheaper 300 TPE LB with them and spending that cap elsewhere because the 300 TPE linebacker is about 80% as good for way less cap space.

Yeah, of course we need more players and whatnot. Not arguing that. It's just a pet peeve of mine when people assume you need to be earning 150 TPE a season and be at 400 TPE or more to even have a chance of playing and I try to make sure people know that it isn't the case. I want casuals to be in this league, there is always room for them to contribute. But we need more of all levels of players from max earners to casuals.
