[ready to be graded]
Hey everyone, Nero here. With the DSFL draft approaching, I'd like to take a few questions to help teams learn more about me. Ask away! You can also see a few questions I've answered in my exclusive one-on-one interview.
What kind of bear is best?
Obviously I have to say that my favorite kind of bear is the Chicago Bear. Nah but really, polar. They're built to survive incredibly harsh conditions, they don't need to hibernate, and much like myself, they're an apex predator.
How are you building up strength as a defensive lineman?
Getting my strength to a level where I was ready to compete against Big Ten offensive lines was one of my big challenges when I got to college, but I put in the effort every day in the weight room to make sure I was where I needed to be physically. My mentality for the next level is the same: I want to be the first guy in and the last guy out of the facility every day because if you're not working as hard as you can, you're getting passed by someone out there who is.
What are your goals for this upcoming season?
Obviously priority number one is to win the Ultimini and bring home a DSFL title. I know I may not be on a DSFL roster for long, but I want to make an impact for whatever team decides to take a chance on me. After that, I obviously want to take advantage of this opportunity to develop into the best player I can be before making the jump to the NSFL. I'm excited to get into a pro training facility, learn under proven coaching staffs, and compete alongside some of the best young players in the game.
What motivates you the most on and off the field?
On the field? My teammates. When you're on a team, you commit to going to battle together and you owe it to each other to put forth your best effort and leave it all on the field. Nothing makes me happier than the pride in my teammates' eyes when one of us makes a huge play, and nothing feels worse than letting them down.
What teams interest you the most?
Listen, I'll be happy no matter where I end up. Every team has something to offer, and I'm just grateful for the opportunity to play at this level. That said, I'd love to join a team with a strong winning tradition like Tijuana or Portland. San Antonio would also be awesome - their recent track record of developing defensive ends for the NSFL draft is second to none.
