The Cobras defense has looked phenomenal through 2 games, only allowing 26 points. That number would be even lower too, if the bad offensive play in week one didn't cause the defense to have some tough situations. The biggest standouts to me so far have been the safeties Lamont McKinnie and Shaquill Williams VII. They have been great statistically, with McKinnie tied for second in deflections and Williams having 13 tackles in 2 games as a DB. They are both leaders on the field, directing players into correct positions. McKinnie excels at this, as past coaches say he is amazing at picking up playbooks. It's interesting to see how well these 2 players mesh with their different skills. Williams is a speed demon, a physical freak, while McKinnie is a balanced player who is very intelligent and instinctive. Cobras staff have said they are very coachable and will be good at fitting into a new team in the DSFL. I think both of these players can be instant starters on a DSFL team and should be very high on all of the team's draft boards. These might be the top 2 safeties in this class.
