On this wonderful July 4th, the yearly Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Competition was held. The crowd favorite to win it all was 9 time winner Joey Chestnut. However, there was a new face at the table which brought in quite a fan group of his own; Orange County Otters star big man, Defensive Tackle Franklin 'Lunchtime' Harris. Back in his junior year at the University of Houston, Harris claimed the Hot Dog Eating Competition trophy at the Houston Rodeo.
Many might be questioning why a football player would be participating in something like this, especially as the playoffs come near and the Otters are trying to bring home a much more important trophy. When asked about this, Harris had this to say,

"Well, the truth is I had been talking with Angus, and he told me that he thought I couldn't win this. So, I took my off day to come out here and do what any other true American would do; prove that son of a gun wrong while taking home the gold. Let's just hope Coach doesn't make too big of a deal out of this."
The fact is, they don't call Harris 'Lunchtime' for nothing. He had the techniques down to a tee, and made the crowd go silent as he aimed to break the World Record. At 73 dogs downed, Harris headed back to Orange County with a first place medal and his name in the record books.
Harris also made it apparent that he'd be wearing the medal to Yeti's Brokk Lee's party, and hopes that Hawk's star linebacker "Harrison keeps his clothes on" at the gathering.
