Why can’t we all just get along? Or have we forgotten the words of the Reverend King

But when it comes to other cases, punishments come out in a span of a few days and get even revisited. yes sorry that is on me from before HO, I had meant to post it and then all sorts of stuff went down. TLDR She was reinstated 3/4 from HO and 6/10 from teams ![]() (04-15-2020, 01:44 PM)caltroit_red_flames Wrote:That's a real flawed way of thinking. They'd have to get waiver priority which means they were the worst team last season or they missed the chance on other players/passed on other players while they waited for someone they wanted. And then once they pick that person up they'll be in the final waiver slot so anyone else they want to join the team won't get a chance to cause another team will pick them up. Even with added steps and timing concerns it still boils down to your gripe is that people should be able to play with their friends in the DSFL if they want to because it will lead to more retention, no? ![]() ![]() (04-15-2020, 11:51 PM)infinitempg Wrote:yes sorry that is on me from before HO, I had meant to post it and then all sorts of stuff went down. I'm saying the DSFL is about creating an atmosphere of growth and retention which Myrtle Beach did, and if you don't want them to abuse the waiver system then fix it. Punish them for tampering sure, but if HO is going to post this: "In my almost 3 years in sim leagues I have not seen an environment like Myrtle Beach. Between wishing ill towards numerous DSFL teams, gaming the leagues waiver system, suggesting people retire, having prospects create with awful useless builds and then position switch and much more Cory and RD specifically (though Frost and Jeff are certainly not blameless) have fostered a terrible room and environment for the DSFL. Were it up to me - they would both be fired from their posts. Additionally - look at Speculadora's posts and the comments. Cory and RD acting like they did nothing wrong, saying they agree with his post as if they are not the fundamental part of this problem. We as a league need to make a stand that this kind of behavior is not to be taken lightly. " and act like dragging the reputation of these fine members through the mud is just business as usual then that's fucked up.
I don't really have anything to say about the additional punishments. There are a lot of people on the appeals committee and if they all felt that way then clearly there were things that needed to be addressed. I try in general to not comment on punishments because I typically think both parties involved do a good job. With that said.
To see Jeff's punishment upheld, however, is really disappointing. I saw the entire conversation between Jeff and Gabe (gwdjohnson) that preceded the screenshot Jeff showed me from their war room. At no point in that conversation did Jeff either suggest that Gabe should retire so that Norfolk could not have his old player, nor did he suggest that he should recreate so that Myrtle Beach could have his new player. In the latter instance, it was actually Gabe who brought up playing for MB. Secondly, there's no evidence that Gabe was actually contacted for his side of the story. I hope and believe HO tried to, but from what Jeff showed me, Gabe was never actually reached. To make the punishment as if he had no agency in that decision sucks, but they worked with what they had. To not overturn the punishment knowing that just sucks. Additionally, Jeff actually apologized in the thread mentioned by slm in the original post, reached out to at least one other DSFL GM to apologize and try to squash any beef, and removed members of the war room who contributed to the culture being discussed here, on top of working toward other changes that the appeals committee was informed of. To see a two season GM ban upheld with the information he provided and efforts he's made to correct the very thing the appeals committee seemed most upset about is just plain irritating. (With all of that said, these are only details as I discussed them with Jeff so if I am off base on anything here please let me know) |
