The NSFL Top 50: 50-41
This is the NSFL Top 50 for S22 as voted by the players. The votes have been tallied and assigned points in the following manner, if someone was voted as the 1st player they received 30 points, 2nd 29 points, 3rd 28 points, so on and so forth until 30th 1point. Without further adieu, here are players 40 to 31:
- 40. Nate Swift - WR -
- @Bigred1580
S21 Stats: 65 receptions, 1116 yards, 8 touchdowns; 32 returns, 653 yards
Swift was the top receiving target for the Wraiths last season. Swift finished top 5 in the league in receptions and receiving yards. Swift was also a S21 Pro Bowl reserve for S21.
- 39. Mathias Hanyadi - RB -
- @CLG Rampage
S21 Stats: 241 carries, 1045 yards, 7 TDs; 62 receptions; 550 yards; 1 TD
Hanyadi was the NSFL Offensive Player of the Year in S20, but couldn’t repeat that performance in S21. He still put up great numbers in S21 though starting in the Pro Bowl, finishing top 5 in rushing yards, and adding 550 more yards in the passing game. Hanyadi continues to show that he is a complete offensive weapon for the Wraiths.
- 38. Bjørn Ironside - DT -
- @IsaStarcrossed
S21 Stats: 44 tackles, 1 TFL, 4 sacks
Ironside didn’t do much on the field in S21. His 44 tackles was solid, amongst defensive linemen. However, his TFL and sack numbers are well below average for the position. I think this has to be a case where his reputation off the field boosted his standing among the voters. Ironside is well known for his contributions to the league beyond what he does on the gridiron.
- 37. Johnny Snuggles - CB -
- @manicmav36
S21 Stats: 49 tackles, 14 PDs, 0 INTs; 51 returns, 1121 return yards; 1 return TD
Snuggles is known around the league for being a solid corner and he continued to pad his reputation with this season. While he was unable to get the ball in his hands on defense, he proved electric in the return game for the Wraiths.
- 36. Kacey Dream - CB -
- @scorycory
S21 Stats: 39 tackles; 17 PDs; 0 INTs
Dream is yet another corner that had a solid season but was unable to come down with an interception. Dream’s 17 passes defended is tied for 5th in the league. Their mere 39 tackles shows that quarterbacks may have been scared to throw Dream’s way.
- 35. Dan Wright - QB -
- @nickyvmlp
S21 Stats: 227comp/410att, 2715 yards, 10 TDs, 7 INTs; 29 carries, 118 yards, 1 TD
Wright finished last among QBs in completions, yards, and touchdowns, which could be a product of the system that the Sabercats run, as this seems to trend throughout Wright’s career. I think Wright’s appearance on this list can be attributed to his positional importance and difficulty.
- 34. Dexter Banks II - WR -
- @TropicaliaCC
S21 Stats: 57 receptions, 824 yards, 11 TDs; 25 returns, 155 return yards
Banks II led the Otters in receiving touchdowns, finishing 3rd in the league with his 11 touchdown grabs. His catch and yardage totals are solid, but not spectacular. It is likely his ability to find the endzone that propelled him to a S21 Pro Bowl appearance and his ranking on this list. Banks II looks to continue his success, but for the expansion Sailfish in S22 as he was selected 1st overall in the expansion draft.
- 33. Tyron Brackenridge - LB -
- @Lowlycrib
S21 Stats: 83 tackles, 12 sacks, 8 PDs, 1 Safety
Brackenridge is probably still giving some quarterbacks nightmares, his 12 sacks was good for 3rd in the league last season. Brackenridge earned a S21 Pro Bowl appearance due to his ability to get to the quarterback. He also was only one of seven players to record a safety last season.
- 32. Jack Rambo - S -
- @oz3700
S21 Stats: 73 tackles, 8 sacks, 1 FF, 2 PDs, 2 INTs, 1 TD
Rambo really filled up the stat sheet for the Butchers last season en route to his S21 Pro Bowl appearance. Rambo did a little bit of everything, his 8 sacks led all defensive backs. Despite rushing the passer frequently, he was also able to grab two interceptions, just two behind the league leader. Rambo was dealt to the Copperheads this offseason and will look to build upon his S21 success next season.
- 31. Richard D’Attoria V - S -
- @124715
S21 Stats: 115 tackles, 1 FF, 3 PDs, 1 INT
D’Attoria V, like Rambo, also appears to play a bit of a hybrid safety role. The former Defensive Back of the Year is entering his twilight seasons in the league but still performing at a high level. He finished top amongst all defensive backs in tackles and 5th overall league wide.
