Guess who has no clue what he's doing so just randomly moved troops
Me!

Me!
First move is in, and as I feared the Backstabbr engine is proving to be a pain in the ass. The fact that it allows impossible moves to be entered was on display in turn 1 from multiple powers. Turns out that it's super hard to get move images from the engine for update reports as well... I can't possibly do it on mobile alone so the pictures of the updates in the thread will have to wait until next week.
Playdiplomacy.com has an engine that doesn't allow impossible moves. The messaging service is a bit more opaque and antiquated, but that's ok generally. There are shortcomings to it, but I know that the AARs will be easier with their photo system. We also would probably be given completely new powers to play with on the new PD.com game. Backstabbr will contribute to have the best sandbox simulator for checking your moves. If strongly suggest using that for seeing how stuff we'll come together. I leave up to you guys as to whether you want to continue this game from this place, start a new one on playdiplomacy.com or if the game no longer appeals to you...(it is a good deal of writing). Sorry for any confusion leading into this turn! Vote in the thread and I'll follow your collective wishes. @Kristy95, @Jogn, @
Yea my opening was totally messed up lol. I didn't even move! Haha. I'm ok with keeping going but if we start over I wouldn't complain either
Hey guys and gals,
After much consideration, I've decided to migrate our first outing over to PlayDiplomacy.com. I decided to do this because we have only just begun to scratch the surface of frustration when it comes to fake moves. Having an engine that limits moves to the possible will remove headaches later in the game. There are many troublesome details regarding fleet movement and convoying that can cancel a move. And even the best players in the world make these mistakes. In last year's World Diplomacy Championship Top Board (the Super Bowl of Diplomacy), the eventual champion Chris Barnes lost a move and an army build because he forgot to specify north or south coast when moving a fleet from Constantinople to Bulgaria. These finicky rules are best just avoided altogether. So the new game is created!! Over on pd.com, the new game is NSFL: Great War 1 and is game ID: 133093. If you search for games with either of those pieces of info you should be able to find it. I can't link a nice and easy sign-up form like I can on backstabbr ![]() Let me know when you've migrated over! Looking forward to the game. I'll update the OP once the games starts. There are some rules differences for this new game. Turns will still last 48 hours but will not include a 24hr grace period. The adjudication timer will also not be set to noon. I have yet to be able to configure it, but I'll keep you posted. If you fail to submit orders for two turns, the game will remove you and pause until we can get a replacement. Everything else should be the same!
