So last year I did these rankings and was almost perfect on the predictions. I got the order of the top 3 wrong but predicted them correctly. I then predicted the next 4 quarterbacks correctly and missed on number 8. This year I did 10 quarterbacks instead of top 8 becuase 10 is a prettier number than 8. Hopefully this is even more accurate than last year as I've been in the league for a year. But without further ado.
QB1 - Jay Cue
No shocker here. Highest TPE quarterback with elite rushing ability is the number one choice, more news at 11. Last year he finished as the QB3 behind the next two people on the list but I can’t not put him at one because of that. In terms of passing volume Arizona threw it the 3rd most in the league with 602 attempts. With his rushing ability he had the second most rushing yards and most touchdowns amongst quarterbacks. Expect him to still get taken as the number 1 overall QB, but is he worth the draft capital?
QB2 - Dexter Banks II
Last year I had Banks ranked as the QB3 and he finished as the QB1. At the time he was a slightly worse QB and now is the second highest TPE QB behind Cue. He also has exceptional rushing ability much like Cue. In season 24 he also had the most attempts passing the ball and the most attempts rushing the ball. The Sarasota QB had 629 passing attempts and a huge 114 attempts on the ground. In the long run you would be happy taking either Cue or him as the number 1 quarterback.
QB3 - Colby Jack
The next 3 QBs order is a crapshoot so good luck picking in this second tier. Colby Jack got put here because last year he was a rookie and still finished as the QB6, which is where I projected him last year. He was 5th in quarterbacks in rushing attempts and yards but had the fewest touchdowns amongst the rushing quarterbacks. I can see his attempts going up and the touchdowns to go back to the average. From the passing standpoint he threw a fair amount of interceptions as a rookie which should go back down towards the average as well. Expect Colby to go anywhere from the QB3 - QB7. Like I said, it’s a bit of a crapshoot here in the middle. If you don’t get one of the top 2 QBs wait till a later round.
QB4 - Wolfie McDummy
The Colorado QB comes in at number 4 on the list. After a disappointing loss in the Ultimus expect him to come back with a vengeance. Last year he finished as the QB2 on the back of a bunch of touchdowns that I expect to come down since he was in the middle of the pack for attempts. He has the advantage as all these top QBs of rushing ability. Last year he was third overall quarterback in yards and attempts. Combine all this with being on a top team and he should be a top quarterback once again.
QB5 - George O’Donnell
George finished at the QB7 last season. This is on the back of his team throwing the ball so much. He had the second most attempts out of all quarterbacks. I see him making a small jump because his yards just don’t match the attempts and I expect him to get more yards this year. Unfortunately this is the first QB to not have the elite rushing and that hurts him and the rest of the quarterbacks on the list.
QB6 - Easton Cole
Last year Cole finished as the QB 5 on a reliable passing game. He had just under 4200 yards on a modest 536 attempts. If you pick Easton Cole in your draft you can expect to get an incredibly average year. His attempts are in the middle of the pack, his yards are slightly above average, and his touchdowns were basically the average. In a 6 team league you are just taking a pot shot on one of the quarterbacks without the rushing ability of the top guys.
QB7 - Brock Phoenix
I need to put Phoenix on here purely because of his amount of TPE. However, he lacks the rushing ability of the late round QBs. He was 8th amongst quarterbacks in passing attempts. He was well below the average in passing touchdowns which should go up. Another issue with Phoenix is that the Philadelphia Liberty aren’t exactly a good team. If they get better expect Brock to be the reason for that.
QB8 - Chika Fujiwara
Oh boy here we go again with the average QBs. Chika has once again the average speed, nothing elite. He is middle of the pack in TPE. Be worried if he is your fantasy quarterback because he will be in 30 attempts for rushing ability which just isn’t great for fantasy. I expect him to perform better than last year as he had the second most interceptions which will hopefully fall down towards the average
QB9 - Monterey Jack
Man what is there to say here. Another average QB with average attempts, average yardage, average touchdowns, average intercepts, but above average name. You could easily put Slothlisberger here if you want. But in all honesty don’t draft them in fantasy unless you’re a homer. Both Jack and Slothlisberger have fantastic names though so if you are going for the meme team dream pick them.
QB10 - Suleiman Ramza
So Ramza hasn’t allocated his TPE at the time of this writing so it is hard to project him. If he follows what he can do and launch his speed into the 80s or to 90 bump him up to QB5. The Otters threw the ball the 4th most in the league and Armstrong, the man he is replacing, ran for the 4th most yards and attempts. Depending on the the TPE goes he could have the rushing ability to make him a must draft in all leagues.
Take these with a grain of salt. Everyone after Wolfie McDummy is a crapshoot as its purely on passing ability. If you like a team and think they'll pass more than other teams take that QB. Keep an eye on where Ramza puts his TPE.
Good luck to everyone in fantasy!
