I’d like to think when the international simulation football league was first created the primary focus was having a community of people come together in kindness, fun and creating something that we can all relate to. I joined the international simulation football league last season, season 39. My friend and member of the league Kotasa as know as Rich Triplett, told me about it. At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to join or not but as he continued to explain the details I knew it was something that I would find a lot of interest in. One of the biggest reasons why I knew I would give it a shot was he kept bringing up the fact that the community was very nice and welcoming. He told me how he got into the league kind of randomly but connected with members immediately and found awesome friendships throughout the league. It was cool to see how everyone comes together using their strengths and weaknesses to create something that everybody can enjoy. That nice welcoming nature is one of the best foundations with an idea such as the international simulation football league is brought into existence. When I first started navigating and figuring out every little thing was challenging with the amount of help and the amount of people that reached out to me to ensure that I was figuring things out was incredible.
I was brought into the Tijuana Luchadores a great and very brotherhood like locker room. As soon as I joined I was greeted with a warm welcome and immediately excepted as wonderful one of the Luchadoors. I learned very quickly how important it is to have an active and united locker room, it helps with morale in keeping everyone active in the organization. Kotasa, GuitarMaster116, Dewalt27, Tonzy and Simo were guys who immediately reached out to me and offered help as much as they could. You can only say “thank you I appreciate it man!”, though so much so many times(bad dad joke I don’t know lol) not getting acclimated to the way the league works and figuring out things as you progress with so much help in front of you is really only your fault. Yes there is some things that could be a little easier to navigate but once you get the hang of it it’s pretty simple. Having to discord discussions to help you answer any questions you may have, responses on post and threads to make sure you’re doing everything correct are just a few ways to help you throughout the International simulation football league. The league is really what the members create that’s the secret recipe to finding success and ultimately having fun. It’s exciting to get to slowly know everyone in the league whether it be through reading through articles, looking people up on the wiki page or simply interacting with lead members on Twitter. I personally really enjoy reading through peoples wiki pages and seeing the stories and imagination used to create that person and bring that character to life. Some league members get really creative on the story aspects of their player. Seeing these fun and interesting backgrounds really brings the dynamic feel to the international simulation football league. Almost every character in the league is unique some very realistic and some far-fetched but it all blends together almost seamlessly. One of my personal favorites things about the wiki page is going back and checking the history of the international simulation football league. Checking out teams that have won previous championships and players that stood out in various positions. When you read on the history of the international simulation football leave you really get a sense of the community since the very beginning. It is quite remarkable to see what the league has become now. Throughout my short time in the international simulation football league I’ve talked to many people and got acquainted with some of the nicest members in the league. This article I put together is a piece I want to do for them. I want to make sure these players that are kind, helpful and the basically the soul of this league get some recognition. To be honest I don’t really have to do this because these guys know who they are and I’m sure many people tell them how genuinely great they are but I thought why not they deserve it and much more!
The first guy I want to start with is a good friend of mine Kotasa. He has personally helped me so. Doing many things such as inviting me to his home to help me with my character, helping me with the posts, helping me with threads and hot to claim threads, figuring out the Twitter how to link this and that he is a very selfless person. I know I’m not the only person he has helped like this. He joined the international simulation football league not too long ago but has already made a great impact in the community. I put him at one of the top most nicest people in this league because I know he will continue to do these things as he gains a reputation of being an active and helpful member. Kotasa has always been a truly nice guy. He is beloved in the locker room and is extremely helpful with any questions that I personally have had and many others. I may be biased that he is my friend but I feel like he shows this genuine kindness to many people and I’m sure a lot of you out there can agree to this.
When it comes to being a general manager one has to be kind and professional. One of the first general managers that reached out to me was Dewalt27. An extremely professional member of this league and real kind person. He never hesitated once to make sure I was doing the right thing and corrected me very respectively when I messed things up making his life harder yet he still helped me without hesitation. Dewalt27 left a big imprint in how I viewed the league it was a great first impression and many other members that I am encountered after him resembled a lot of that same welcomeness and kindness.
Meeting so many nice people throughout this community I started wondering who’s the nicest person here? I begin this journey with open ears and an open heart. I asked everyone their thoughts. I asked teammates, new friends I made, Twitter I even asked Baby Yoda and a dude who has an eagle face. When I ask around who is the nicest guy in the international simulation football league one name seemed to keep popping up over and over again. It was at this point I knew I had to virtually meet this insanely nice person. My first encounter with this individual blew my mind. I shake at the thought of reliving it, it simply went like this, I messaged the public forum of the London Royals, “Word around the internet is you are the nicest guy in the ISFL”. What he said after still brings warmth to my heart. “Aw”. It left me speechless. He followed with, “while I do think I’m a nice guy, I don’t think I’m with nicest”. The true modesty of a southern gentleman. Someone quick look up ‘humble’ in the dictionary because I’m willing to bet a picture of Katarn22 is right there! Yes ladies and gentlemen the nicest member of the international simulation football league is Katarn22 - Albert Ruschmann that’s 2 n’s please get it right he deserves at least that much. His modesty led him to mention other nice members and when a guy like him mentions you’re nice you have to be! Katarn22 just has that like-able personality about him. Whether it’s him favoriting one of your tweets, messaging you hello on discord or simply just being helpful, he’s truly a nice guy. He actually was the one who suggested someone should write a “Nicest Users” article for media so members could get more recognition. I haven’t known Katarn22 very long but if I had to compare him to a real life NFL player past or present, it is without a doubt he is most like Andrew Luck, the true nice guy of the league. So don’t be shy if you know the guy or don’t make sure to say hi and make a new friend in the league. Katarn22 and a few other members made sure I mentioned another super nice person.
This truly special member of the international simulation football does so much for the community. Sometimes the tasks and responsibilities she has aren’t always the most but nevertheless she does her best to make sure others are appreciated and everyone is having fun through the community. Tesla is one of the most involved members of the community and is very helpful to so many players. She has many important responsibilities in the ISFL. Tesla is one of the main primary graders when it comes to media. That means she is involved and an intercal part to almost everyone’s players development. She takes the time out of her day to read and go through lots of media whether it be articles, graphics or podcasts. Grading and making sure everyone work is held to a high standard and that everyone is compensated fairly. I myself can not say I would have the patience to do that but it’s good to know that we have members like Tesla. I have not had the fortune of meeting her yet but can’t wait to. This community is so awesome and filled with so many people from diverse backgrounds but I have yet to meet anyone unpleasant!
DeadPlayer (another super nice guy) mentioned he hasn’t even interacted with Tesla but that everyone says she’s super nice and helpful. He also mention another very nice member of the ISFL.
Woelkers a former rookie mentor and “super chill and helpful” member. Guys like him are the reason I and so many members take a likening to the International simulation football league. When you are a rookie and you don’t really know how to navigate and earn TPE on the website, it can all become very frustrating. Woelkers has helped so many people learn the ropes and get a hang of it all. Without him and that genuine kindness there would probably be a lot less members and for sure a lot less successful players. Nice people are the turning force of what keeps the league moving forward in a positive direction. Without all these members that I have mentioned the league would just be less of a pleasant place for newcomers to join. I believe it’s super important that all these members get the recognition that they deserve. As a community it’s important to uplift each other and show that we are all here to have a good time as well as have fun while being competitive in a respectful sportsmanship kind of way.
Like I stated before many of the GM’s I have interacted with are all extremely nice. RESouthPaw, Blasoon, mithrandir are just a few guys I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know. They are all so polite and extremely intelligent when it comes to the ISFL. The teams that they help manage are in extremely good hands. You can sense how much they care about bringing their organizations up as a community and ultimately winning a championship for their city. When teams have leaders like this you can really see why the competition throughout the entire DSFL and ISFL is so intense. With all this said it doesn’t go without seeing that there are toxic members in any sort of organization. I find it remarkable how though in the International simulation football league these members are handled with swiftly and justly. There’s very little room for that kind of energy to stay in a place like this where it’s meant to be fun and inviting to all. I really hope that the international simulation football league can keep growing and expanding adding new members and showing them this kind of positivity on the Internet. As many of you know the Internet can be a cesspool for many people who just like to hurt others in various ways. I can personally say for the weeks that I’ve been a part of this community I have not seen one person act mean or unpleasant to someone else and that’s just a huge testament to the people up top. That sort of kindness and respect trickles down to everyone and spreads through the community as the standard here in the international simulation football league.
I hope to see articles like this in the future, maybe ones that specifically talk about one person and get into depth or even a more wide variety speaking about an organization or a team and the certain traditions and activities they do. As important as it is to build the ambience of a league with players and events, it’s just as important to keep the integrity of people as individuals throughout the large community of the ISFL. Kindness and respect is the best way to do it. The international simulation football league is some thing then I for sure will recommend to my other friends. The community here is just so nice and refreshing. The conversations I’ve seen about real life NFL football to video gaming and random topics in between truly show the community in the ISFL. Even when it is game day and the sims do what they do best, win or lose teams have the utmost respect for each other at least for the most part some can’t help that mamba mentality competitive nature. When I first wrote one of my media pieces I went with an approach of a TMZ “SMZ” sports scandals reports. Right away it was met with laughter and many community members encouraged me and wanted to be a part of the alleged crazy stories I would write about their characters. I wasn’t sure if anyone would like my writings but when I felt the immediate ISFL welcome I was encouraged to write more and have fun with it all. It is this niceness, this pure kindness that I keep coming back to and emphasizing throughout this article. This is one of the main reasons I want to keep being very active in this league as well as give back to future members as much as I can. I hope when I see opportunities to help people and be kind that I can take them simply for the fact of the kindness shown to me. I still have a lot to learn but I am optimistic that I’ll have opportunities to help others. The international simulation football league has been a great community since the first day I joined. I truly hope that this will continue and that members will realize how truly lucky we all are to be together in the wonderful community. The ISFL home of the nicest people you’ll meet on the internet. Thank you everyone have a nice day!
