As the first full week of ISFL sims have come and gone, we all saw some of our favorite teams perform as expected, some surpass expectations, and others fall apart fast in the early start. There is still a lot of football left, but for power rankings, this is ripe time to begin. Our focus this season will be through the passing stats of the quarterbacks and which of them is doing the best so far in the season. It is easy to look into the index and pick and choose which stats make "the best quarterback" for awards; however, I have brought back a very underrated method that I am sure all of the people in S17 miss seeing...my power rankings! This season I am just focusing on quarterbacks since now we have enough quarterbacks to fill an entire offense and then some.
The main focus will be on the passing stats since that separates the quarterback position from other positions. While some players have another level to their game through the rushing attack, not every quarterback has a 79 game manager build yet so I am focusing solely on passing stats. The stats used are: completions, pass yards, completion percentage, passing touchdowns, interceptions, and passer rating. There will be some cool stats put around about notes and various things while we go through the season and the power rankings will change as the season goes on. The point of power rankings is to put all of the stats together to give a full picture of a quarterback, so I felt these stats gave the best picture of a quarterback's passing ability. There are other things involved with the position (WRs' TPE, TE TPE, RB TPE) but I might only include that if I find a way to incorporate it with the grades. I will write a short description for the top 5 quarterbacks, even if someone is tied in the top 5. Onto the rankings...
Here's how to read the graph and grades:
GREEN spaces are worth 3 points
YELLOW spaces are worth 2 points
ORANGE spaces are worth 1 point
RED spaces are worth 0 points
- The total sum per quarterback's stats get added up then divided by the max points allowed (30)
- The "Grade" is the raw percentage from that
- The "Curved Grade" is the highest grade adjusted to 100% then the same adjustment is added to the other grades, just like a curved test
- The (+/- ####) is the average separation of the set. Any number inside that range is given an average ranking with those in the below average given an orange and above average are yellow. Exceeding that average is green and failing is red.
- Interceptions is the only spot that works in reverse. You want to have less than the average, duh

QB Rankings:
1. Wolfie McDummy
In his final year, McDummy sits himself as the top quarterback to begin the season with a few close calls in his Week 4 game against the Baltimore Hawks. Beyond that, Wolfie has been business as usual with plenty of good passing and taking care of his throws. He has the lowest amount of interceptions in the league which makes sense with his veteran playing and the fact that he still has his top targets in William Lim and Earl Sauce. The addition of TE2 Dave Batista has also been really beneficial to Wolfie's stats as he gets to have three reliable targets to give the ball off to for a second best 1158 passing yards. There is still a little more that Wolfie could do but nothing really keeping Wolfie's passing game from falling away despite the regression.
T2. George O'Donnell
Now it seems that all of the Chicago stocks are starting to boom under the hand of O'Donnell and the sharp offense in Chicago. His numbers might not jump at you but as a whole, he definitely has put together quite the season and is getting full advantage of the veteran receiving core around him. George finds himself above the 1000 mark for passing yards as well and on top of the NSFC, a feat the Chicago Butchers haven't done since their founding in S16. It is still early in the season, but there is definitely more time for O'Donnell to keep climbing and raising his stats with the talent available to him.
T2. Luke Skywalker
The Force is strong with the Honolulu quarterback that keeps himself tied for second place after a dominant performance against the Second Line where he almost doubled his touchdown total. Some might say that should move Skywalker down, but the way that he manages to perform above average without any below average stats also helps him in the opening week of the ISFL. He averages 254 passing yards a game that also helps him from getting left behind in the season's opening and some great options to throw to that are starting to peak in talent like most of the other quarterbacks in the league. Time will tell if the Second Line game was a small blip on the radar or if Skywalker can pull those games back out later.
T4. Suleiman Ramza
Preseason Rookie of the Year favorite, Ramza does not have a ton of time to wait around after taking the role of Franklin Armstrong and he has shown the transition period pretty much does not exist. Ramza has come in and kept the Orange County Otters rolling as usual. That alone could keep Ramza as the favorite among the rookies along with an impressive second best touchdown total at eight. Ramza's only flaw is the time he has to play in the league might be quick yet it seems that he will be making the most of every moment he is on the field. The projections for Ramza are still on the right path in his rookie season.
T4. Ben Slothlisberger
The smoking gun, Ben Slothlisberger hasn't been throwing up the highest numbers or the craziest, but he has been able to be the most accurate quarterback in the league through four weeks with a 61.1% completion. Beyond that, he has found himself on the above average side of keeping his touchdowns high and his interceptions low. Adding that all up has given him a respectable fourth best passer rating. As other quarterbacks move up and down, Slothlisberger finds himself rocking the above average mark with another pack of cigarettes that might hurt his lungs in the long run but somehow end up making him the most accurate passer.
T6. Brock Phoenix
T6. Monty Jack
8. Jay Cue
9. Chika Fujiwara
10. Nick Kaepercolin
11. Sam Howitzer
12. Colby Jack
T13. Easton Cole
T13. Dexter Banks II
