Let us overreact on the first few weeks already. So, lets start with my player, Mr. Matt Krause, and his shit performances so far. For a Cornerback that is sitting at just over 900 TPE I would expect more, maybe the sim does not love me, maybe I am just a hot pile of garbage but producing ONLY ONE FUCKIN PASS DEFENSE is ridiculous, do not get me started on ZERO interceptions, I lucked into a Fumble recovery, and have a WHOPPING 29 tackles….yayyyyy. Also, with my shit performances, goes along our terrible record. 0-5 got to love it. Testing high, but the product on the field looks like a high school football team. Them damn dots have no clue what to do.
Now let us talk about everyone else so far, first off what happened to my old crew, SJS 2-3 and man they really did not look good against CHI, looked like they were afraid to throw the ball. Secondly, where did New Orleans Def come from 96 Points Allowed, WOW, we mise well lock up New Orleans and Orange County in the ASFC championship game, I mean fuck it why not. For the NSFC, I did not see Sarasota sticking to the pace they have, I feel Chicago is the stronger team but knowing the yeti, and possibly Yellowknife that division is wide open, but the shocker is PHILLY not being in the dungeon of the division. WOW.

I feel like by the time the season ends Xander Creed will at the very least be on the ballot for RBOTY, and Offensive rookie of the year. I had a fairly slow game in week one. Tallied One Hundred yards and a TD in our close loss to Dallas, but my Yards per carry left something to be desired. That said I am very confident that my play on the field will improve as the weeks go by, i am only getting better and havent hit my DSFL peak yet, and from what my teammates and GMs are saying my productivity will be increased with my increased carries. I have the burst and the speed to hit holes hard and the vision to avoid tacklers. I am fully expecting to hit 1000 yards and be closer to 5 yards a carry by the time the season ends. Is that a tall order? Maybe but definitely possible. Especially considering I have gotten so much better just in the time since week ones game. Defenses had better be on their toes because when Im lined up across from them every play could be a touchdown. I really do expect to see my name on a few ballots at the end of the year. Im a team first kind of guy but when the topic is to talk myself up im gonna take the chance. So look for my name at the end of the year winning a couple big time awards.

For this task you wanted spicy hot takes, so here is mine! Berlin may be the most overrated team in league history after five games and it isn't even their fault. Berlin wasn't hyping themselves up. They weren't bragging or claiming to be the the best. They were just keeping their heads down and doing their thing. Unfortunately for them, multiple big name testers did season sims for S26 to see where everyone might stand at the end. For some reason through these tests, Berlin was consistently one of the best teams in the league. In fact through even my own tests, Berlin may have been more consistently at the top of the standings than even the juggernaut OCO. I wasn't the only one to see this as people started to pick Berlin to be the first seed in their conference. I didn't quite understand why they were testing so well though as they didn't seem drastically better than their peers. It didn't stop the hype from building though as test after test showed Berlin to be a monstrous obstacle in the league. Now after five games, they are still winless and it is hard to tell what went wrong. Were the season sims really that far off or has Berlin been cursed with some of the worst luck the league has ever seen? Right now its hard to tell, but one thing is certain. Through the first five games, they have been the worst team in the league and its unfortunate for a team that had so much hope.

After falling to the eventual champions San Jose SaberCats in the ASFC Championship game last season, Orange County made a splash this past offseason and picked up two talented players in Brandon Booker and Heath Evans to bolster their already strong squad. Retaining most of their players and having a talented rookie in Richard Leaking joining the squad, the Otters look set to contend for the Ultimus once more. Orange County currently sit 4-1 this season and by all accounts have looked every bit of the contender that people around the league had as the favourite to take home another Ultimus and the first under the Ramza era.

David Rector, cornerback of the New Orleans Second Line has been off to a strong start. Leading the league in interceptions with 5 as well as passes defended with 14, Rector looks to be the favourite for the Cornerback of the Year Honours this season. As it stands, Rector has 3 more interceptions over the players tied for second while also having 4 more passes defended over the players tied for second. While there's a fair bit of season left to run, it would take some impressive player from fellow corners to overtake Rector who will also have ample opportunity to add to his already impressive start to the season. Going a step further, I think that Rector will be in line for MVP consideration as he's clearly been the best defensive back so far while also being a contributor as a returner on special teams.

Abject failure…yeah that feels like a really concise way to describe Honky Tonk Haywood’s season thus far. 14 total tackles and 1 tackle for a loss puts your boi squarely towards the bottom of the league’s DT rankings for players who have played significant minutes. Out of DT’s with at least 11 tackles (over twenty eligible players), HTH is one of only three without a sack on the season. Haywood now has one career sack as we near a one and a half seasons of ISFL football. While it’s not entirely unexpected considering his youth and the rest of the teams’ inexperience, it’s clear that it’s going to be a while before he begins to make an impact in this league.
Meanwhile, it’s certainly too early to call the Liberty’s season an abject failure as the team sits at a reasonable 2-3, but the ice is very thin in Philadelphia right now. Their points for/against sits at a minus-47 right now, which is third-worst in the league. They sit in front of only Honolulu and Berlin right now, the league’s two winless teams. The defense has created a league-worst 3 turnovers on the season, while the team’s one true game changer, Brock Phoenix, has thrown four interceptions. He’s tied for last in the league with only four touchdown throws.
So, is it time to panic in Philadelphia yet? Probably. But despite it’s captain’s struggles and poor defensive play, the team does have a 2-3 record. Who knows, maybe the offense gets going, the defense makes an occasional play one in a blue moon, and the Lib sneak into the playoffs. It is 2020 after all.

These first five weeks of the season have been some of the most exciting and most strange weeks of my ISFL career. Where should I even begin? The ISFL landscape was projected to look much different than it does today. To start, the powerhouses of the NSFC during the last several seasons, the Colorado Yeti, are sitting on the outside looking in in terms of the playoffs, if they were to start today. That is crazy to me. Even crazier than that, though, are the Berlin Fire Salamanders. Most people projected them to make a huge jump into playoff position this season. They, however, are sitting at 0-5. I feel bad for them because I have a lot of friends over there. My team, the Chicago Butchers, is playing outstanding though, so I am definitely excited about that! We are 4-1, and two of those wins actually came on the road, which is pretty much unheard of in the ISFL because of how strong home field advantage is! We are off to an amazing start, so I hope that we can keep it up. I usually try to temper my expectations, but this feels like it could maybe possibly potentially be our year. It's early, but we are feeling great right now!

Brick has not shown up on the stat sheets since preseason. While I understand I am currently a backup I'm not even sure if Bricks doing much more than cheerleading or warming up the bench. Maybe he looked at coach the wrong way, maybe he didn't make his coffee just the way coach likes it, all Brick knows is that he has to keep trying to get that cream and sugar ratio correctly. 

After having recorded no stats in the first 5 games of the season, Brick is contemplating if he made the right decision. Maybe he didn't hit the tackling dummies well enough, perhaps he should have stayed in the DSFL perpetually where he could always be the star and never worry about being outpaced in training. Perhaps Brick isn't cut out for the big leagues to play with the big dogs. Big fish in a bigger pond sort of thing. But right now all Brick cares about is helping right the ship, after a 3 loss spiral maybe Brick can get some playing time and make some splashy plays, or maybe Brick can at least just keep the bench spot warm for the asses of the real heroes, The starters.
