We are powering through the season and I would say on the offensive side of things, one stand out player would be Tatsu Nakamura. With 11 games gone by as I write this, Nakamura is the league leader in rushing yards with 1197, with several games to go and over 1000 yards already that is an insane clip. Also Nakamura leads the rushing leaders in touchdowns with 12 (tied with a few others) but that is insane numbers to be putting up. I would say they would be in line for offensive player of the year or maybe MVP. They are in line to have a massive season if they keep up the average of 100+ yards a game. They may have some tough competition for MVP against someone like Slothlisberger who is having a great season at QB with massive stats also.
On the defensive side of things I think the stand out is Witten from NOLA. With an astonishing 86 tackles at the corner back position and boasting other remarkable stats like 2 forced fumbles, 5 interceptions and 19 passes deflected. Witten is in a great position to earn some defensive honors. Defensive awards are always tricky to guess as with many different positions and goals it can be hard to weight certain stats in certain ways. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out and if anyone has a breakout couple of games. Code: 242 Words ![]()
Prior to the season I had made predictions for awards outside of MVP during my joint podcast with Pat. This is a great PT to check in on my predictions:
Offensive Player of the Year – Raphtalia Chan – RB – Sarasota Sailfish He is currently second in the league in rushing with 1,081 yards and in a three way tie for Rushing TDs at 12. He also has 145 yards receiving with 2 TDs. At this rate we’re looking at 1700+ all purpose yards with 20ish TDs. I think this was a great pre-season prediction. Defensive Player of the Year - Immanuel Blackstone – DE – Colorado Yeti I thought Blackstone would tear it up this season but he hasn’t been setting the league on fire. He has a respectable 5 sacks and 7 tackles for loss but unless he turns it on the last part of the season he probably won’t even be in contention for DE of the year. Offensive Rookie of the Year – James Wilkinson – TE – New York Silverbacks The receiving yards for a rookie TE aren’t bad at 385 but he has only 1 TD so far this season but he has a very impressive 23 pancakes with 0 sacks allowed. He might have a decent chance to get nominate but I don’t see him taking home the award. Defensive Rookie of the Year – Wasrabi Gleel – LB – Chicago Butchers Gleel is having a great rookie season with 57 tackles, 3 TFL, 3 FF with 4 FR and 4 sacks. He is definitely up there for DROY and could get the nod if he finishes out the season with some good stats. I have a good shot at getting 2 awards right with OPOY and DROY. I’ll take that going into a season with a new sim. ![]() ![]()
I mean... who else am I gonna talk about in this point task other than my own player? Really? Did you see the turnaround since last season? We're talking about going from literally five receptions last season to five touchdowns and almost 700 yards with five games to play, making it entirely possible (though admittedly unlikely) that Delacour breaks a thousand receiving yards this season. That's breakout player numbers right there. Shit, if Chicago hadn't agreed to the call-up and had tried to get Delacour to play another year in the DSFL, he'd possibly be a front-runner for rookie of the year.
If we're being realistic here, this is Delacour's rookie season in the ISFL. His involvement last season was effectively non-existent, through no fault of his own, and when comparing to other rookies this year, there's only really one or two rookies on offense you can realistically argue are playing better. The best rookie running back is Cobra Kai, whose return of 361 yards (at an average of almost 5 YPC) and a touchdown so far this season is very commendable for a rookie, but not really comparable to Delacour's overall contribution. One of the two rookie quarterbacks has a passer rating over 100 and 20 touchdowns to 7 interceptions... but under 3k yards, with only two other quarterbacks attempting fewer passes so far this season; hard to argue they're making waves. The other is Jackie Daytona, who has an alarming TD:INT ratio of 15:13 but is fourth in the league for passing yards right now despite playing for the second-worst team in the league. The best rookie receiver is probably Mario Messi, whose numbers are a little behind Delacour's but from noticeably fewer receptions, suggesting better efficiency and making him a possible shout over Delacour in this hypothetical award race. Not that any of this matters because Delacour is not a rookie. Maybe we should have a sophomore of the year award... lol. I impersonate a programmer for a living

If only this PT had been posted a month or so ago, oh how I would rave about how Rich Triplet became one of the best CBs in the league seemingly overnight. Starting the season top 3 in PDs, top 5 at his position for tackles and tied for first with INTs made it seem like he could not only start to make his way into breakout player of the year award race, but also into cornerback of the year conversation. Alas Rich has fallen off since his breakout game against the New York Silverbacks. But there are two other corners I want to talk about today at the developmental level that I think are both in a close race for CBOTY, not only are they head-to-head for the award, but they also happen to be teammates. I of course am referring to the Tijuana Luchadores’ cornerback duo of Buck Nekkid and Juno Ho. The duo has almost identical statlines, while this is Buck’s first send down season in Tijuana Juno is a full-fledged rookie. The duo both have 4 interceptions and a defensive touchdown to go with those, Juno has forced one fumble while Buck has forced two, they are only 4 PDs apart with Buck leading Juno with 19, finally both have a solid number of tackles, with Buck leading in that category as well. Looking at the stats right now it’s fair to say that Buck should take the award but there is a lot of time left in the season for Juno to hop ahead his senior and snag it for himself. Either way they both deserve some recognition for their performance on the field for Tijuana this season.

It's really hard to say who's going to be MVP this year. It's going to be either a quarterback or a running back, and while that may seem obvious, the quarterbacks this year are balling out.
Here's my ranking for the best QBs: 1. Ben Slothlisberger - first in yards (3375), second in QB rating (102.3, just behind George O'Donnell at 102.4), second in touchdowns (23), and the lowest interceptions among all quarterbacks with 4. A very efficient and prolific season for a highly-touted quarterback since his days in the DSFL. Slothlisberger is the poster child for patience with quarterbacks. The reason he would lose this race is his team's mediocre record, which is a shame because he's lights out this year. 2. Luke Skywalker - first in touchdowns (25), fourth in QB rating (100.2), and second in completion percentage (68.5) while being third in the league in completions. This high rate of usage while keeping turnovers low paired with Honolulu's first season of real relevance keeps the race with Slothlisberger a toss-up. 3. George O'Donnell - Hear me out on what seems like a homer pick to the average fan. While O'Donnell has the fourth-least yards, and the least amount of completions and attempts, he leads the league in passer rating (102.4) is fourth in touchdown passes (20) and has low interception numbers. The big things going for Georgio-O is the fact he has several game-winning drives, he could give Chicago their first first-seed in possibly franchise history, his TD percentage vs. interception (6% - 1.8%) and when he does throw the ball, he heaves it (12 completions of 40+ yards.) His average yards per completion is over 13. I'd break down the RBs as well, but I've already hit my word count by a lot and there's only two RBs that could round out the top five on my list. Tatsu Nakamura (first in yards, T-1 touchdowns, and first in YPC among running backs with 100+ carries.) Raphtalia Chan (second in yards, T-1 touchdowns, 5th in YPC among qualifying running backs, and very much the catalyst for a playoff-bound team.) How do I think the votes would break down on this list? 1. Slothlisberger 2. Skywalker 3. Nakamura 4. O'Donnell 5. Chan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [OPTION]==========DEFENSE STATS==========
