I have a hard time believing this was ever about stopping late PTs. This had been going on for years and no one ever had a problem with it till Kya was in charge.

This line of thinking should really be stopped. I AM THE ONE WHO STARTED THIS. This started from a complain I INVESTIGATED MYSELF without any sort of HO angle to it. It had nothing to do with who the head was, just the discrepancies between grading that were pointed out and found in MY PRELIMANARY investigation

And what escalated it? Did you immediately decide to fire Kya in your investigation? What took this to an extreme that the majority of the user base felt was too far? Heck were any of the Kya PT workers even consulted or was a narrative constructed within the secret walls of HO? You said you performed a 2-4 week investigation with another member of HO. Who was the other member? Why in the course of this investigation were previous PT heads not contacted and asked about common practices? Why was Kya not contacted till merely days ago? You'll have to forgive me but I do not believe this line of thinking has to stop just because you say so.

Alright so, this post is only the beginning of addressing some of the things that have came up because there is 7 pages of this and I'm not gonna go through and quote everyone when I think everyone would be very interested in  hearing some more insight/perspective from HO. State it first that can always DM me about this and ima try my best to answer concerns just bare with me please.

I think the easiest thing to start off with is separating this into two different sections, 1 regarding the TPE removal and 1 regarding PPT head/Kya.

Firstly the easiest one i think to digest for people, Removal of TPE. Objectively, people completed tasks past a deadline and should not have received the TPE. The deadline is stated on almost all PT's and predictions (Not gonna say all because i haven't checked myself but it more than likely is). This left us in a position where we either
a) Leave this illegal/wrong TPE on people
b) Remove the illegal/wrong TPE off people
c) Give people who were late their TPE>

C is a point I think some people haven't thought of. This entirely investigation started with one conversation in management server with a user complaining about being denied tpe for being late whilst others were late and got it. I was the first one on this and investigated just the last seasons weekly predictions (I think this occurred around Ultimus week, not too sure). If we investigated this and then did not remove tpe, the people who were denied would rightfully be annoyed since some people who did break the deadline have received credit whilst others have not. From personal perspective, as soon as i brought this up to HO as a bigger issue to look into after that one conversation, I was always for and would have pushed the removal of TPE from users as it both makes it fair to those who were denied and follows the deadlines that are set in place.

Now the bigger part i know most of yous have a problem with, The removal of Kya as PPT Head.

I think it goes without saying that this was not a quick and simple process to remove someone as the head of a position. The data that was collected on late PT's and predictions was clear that as a grader/poster, and their time as head, there was a substantially large increase in the percentage of late tasks being approved. (Note that of course, these two numbers play off each other so its pretty easy to worse of both). Going back to the beginning, when the complaint was made in management server and whilst I was investigating it, Kya came online (I think she was tagged) and stated that she does approve late tasks and given them full credit. This is where I instantly brought it to HO, as for me, this is a head of a department, being truthful and honest, saying that they have not followed the rules in place.

I don't think what i will say in terms of the firing will make many people change their mind, but the vote saw the option or Probation, Firing or no action, even talk of relieving her of head and making her a normal member of PPT if she so choosed.  At the end of the vote, as apparent, the majority vote (including both ISFL and DSFL HO) was fire. This investigation spanned somewhere in the range of 2-4 weeks and there was always back and forth on it and the outcome. What has to be understood is that the data of 12 seasons had Kya has 1) The worse performing head 2) The worst performing grader. 3)Openly admitting they had done it. There will always be conjecture on whether this was on purpose, especially when it comes to her grading her own and colleague's task that was late, but the facts that the investigation turned up, for HO and at least i can say myself, these numbers and results were a large reason for her being fire as it was no mistake that these claims were approved

I don't really want to get involved in all of this, but I just want to say I feel like this is information that really should have been included in the original post imo.

When I was simmer the deadline to submit your team's DCs and strategies was still technically midnight by the rules but I had an unofficial policy of "if it's in by 8am when I start simming it will be accepted." Nobody fired me. Probably because they didn't want to try and find a replacement simmer.

It was a different time back then, when heads were allowed to be heads. I made a lot of decisions on my own back then and never thought they would be audited like this. My decisions were made with the leagues best interests at heart. And I stand by them.

If darkness wants to take the flame, let him. I have done this job and taken my fair share of flamings on purpose. It is not for everyone and decision aside I commend him for taking the heat on behalf of HO.

First off, let me just say I really appreciate those stepping up to bat for me here and all the kind messages I've received besides. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the sentiment and love to see the league coming together as a united community on anything, let alone this whole mess.

Second, I feel it's important to emphasize that I am not innocent in all of this and do need to take some responsibility here - while I was never shown the data myself, I can confirm I should have been more diligent about following established deadlines and ensuring late submissions were not awarded TPE. Having not done a deep dive myself I can't tell you how many times it happened either due to me providing leeway or something to do with the tools we use to grade, but I can assure you I did not intend for anyone to be negatively impacted by any of it. In cases where I was more lenient, I had the best interests of the league at heart and only wanted to help players enjoy their time here, not to hamper it in any way. The screenshot Darkness refers to is likely me telling general management chat that I have given credit for predictions submitted within the 15 minute window of the deadline - I realized this was not a good habit to continue, and have been trying to make a more conscious effort ever since to curb it via automated moderation (which I didn't know was available, but HO provided one day), which unfortunately didn't work, and most recently a discord reminder bot.

Regarding the two specific incidents cited - yes. I looked back at the records and found that, as a staff member of PPT, I gave myself 1.5 TPE in S24 for late submitted predictions as well as one other user. Since it was half a year ago I don't recall whether I wasn't paying attention and submitted then later graded via mobile, or if it was something I intentionally did as a stupid newer user to the league. Regardless of which it was, I apologize and hope that 1.5 TPE hasn't given Watts too much of an advantage over others (I shouldn't jest, but the argument for personal benefit is kind of silly to me here). I also gave 12 users TPE for late submissions to a PT in S25, one user of which was r0tzbua (who happens to be my good friend now, but was still quite a new user to the league then so probably really was an acquaintance at that time).

In any case, I feel a little sick that this decision is taking a toll on players rather than just myself. For that, and anyone else who might have felt slighted by anything that happened over the course of my tenure as PPT Head (from the middle of S26 to now) or even as a PPT employee (as a S24 newbie), I hope you'll accept my heartfelt apology.

While I don't think this warranted a firing given previous precedent, I do believe I deserved some form of punishment regardless and would have readily accepted a fine. Despite some encouragement from members of the league to do so, I will not be submitting an appeal for two reasons: first, I was planning to step down from PPT after this season. In my mind, submitting an appeal is kind of a waste of appeal team's time, and maybe somewhat petty given that I wouldn't stay in the position much longer anyways if I succeeded and was restored as PPT Head. Second, I sincerely believe much of this was driven more by a personal falling out I had with a member of HO as opposed to the issue itself. While I believe the myself and potentially the PPT at large should have been held accountable for these errors, I do not believe we would have reached this point without that relationship in play.

By submitting an appeal, I believe it would create more unnecessary drama for the league and potentially my personal life - so frankly I don't want to have any part in it anymore. So I accept this ruling and hope we can all carry on - I will remain a part of this league and continue to support this amazing community however I can for the time being, whether it be through my involvement with Dallas and Austin, or as a member of Dotts (assuming I get to keep my job there?)

tl;dr I'm sorry, I agree I should have been held accountable but don't agree with the severity of the punishment.
