Today Heath Evans announced that due to a long term history of concussions and TBI's, and with great concern for his health, that he would be retiring from the ISFL at the end of the current season. Though Heath had a tremendous start to his career, and was for a stretch of time the premier ISFL Tight End, the vast amounts injuries he has accumulated over the course of his career has led to a drastic drop in performance in recent seasons.
Recent news reports revealed that for many years Heath has struggled to even remember his own name - however his great talent for the game of football seemed to continue to carry him to success. It was only when his hand eye coordination began to fail him that the impact of his condition was evident.
Heath has trouble speaking in coherent sentences, but his agent provided a statement thanking the Buccaneers for taking a chance on a relatively unknown Tight End out of Australia, the Outlaws for giving an opportunity for early personal career success, and the Otters for reigniting his passion for the game.
